Sox got the bats.
Astros got the pitching. They didn't last year and they still made it there.

Probably because my Fantasy Team has so many players from each team.

I don't know, but I do know that teams making it back to the world series just doesn't happen much since the yankees run ended.
I think the AL is wide open and it's the Mets NL to lose.
And for the record, I do not think the Tigers will go to the world series and it's not out of the question that they don't make the playoffs this year either.

I don't see The Tigers there, I just don't, not exactly sure why. I just can't see it. They're a good team and I like them a lot. I'd hope they'd make it, they are a fun team to watch.

I think it will be Mets - Yankees, unless Pujols and Rolen destroy the Mets pitching in the NLCS.
I don't think the White Sox can get back to the World Series again, and I picked the Yankees because despite the holes in their pitching rotation, they have come together in the past to make deep runs and I think they can do it again.

The Cardinals, though I like them, choke harder then Pete Wentz at a Gay Bar in the playoffs.
Jim Edmonds is my favorite current player in The MLB, no joke.
Sox vs. Stros. I still see that.

nope. not with their rotation right now. there is no way they make the world series either. they don't even have a strong 1-2-3. I'd take Beckett, schilling, wakefield over moose, wang, wright everyday of the week.

oh shit, i forgot about him. so their three is moose, johnson and wang. makes it a tiny bit closer but i'll still take the sox rotation.
they still won't make it through the AL with that rotation. That's assuming they even make the playoffs, because unless the tigers collapse the wild card is coming out of the central.

ehh. No one is impressive in the NL either. The mets are the really good team (until the cards get Pujols back). I don't think the Mets can beat the ChiSox, Yankees, BoSox, or even the Tigers in a best of seven series.
As for the NFL, duh.

come on, you can't seriously think the Tigers will hold on. They'll collapse and the Red Sox and Blue Jays will have an interesting WC race.
The Yankees will pick up steam and get hot. They always do.
The Yankees will win the division by three or four games.

Why will the tigers automatically collapse, yet the Blue Jays are going to contend? I don't understand this.
Let's break it down:
The yankees won't win the wild card, their shotty rotation and a lack of a big name available doesn't help them. And don't think John Smoltz is going there because they'd have to give up a Cano/melky/or phillips which won't happen and the only other good prospect is just in A ball. So who will save them? Livan Hernandez? Tony Armas, Jr.?
The blue jays pitching is worse than the yankees. Their bullpen is atrocious and are you going to rely on Ted Lilly to lead you down the stretch? No. didn't think so. You can't expect anything out of AJ Burnett because he won't be full strength for at least 3-4 starts after he get's back/if he get's back. Not to mention he's been inconsistent his entire career with the exception of last year -- and even then he wasn't terribly consistent. Gustava Chacin? there's other better, young pitchers in the league. Aside from Halladay this pitching staff is a buffet of mediocre to good pitchers. Not the make up of a playoff team. They won't be able to slug their way into the playoffs, just ask the texas rangers and they play half their games in a better hitters park than the blue jays.
The tigers, play in an enormous ball park, have veterans like kenny rogers, todd jones (even though he's a horrendous pitcher) Magglio ordonez, pudge rodriguez, and Vance Wilson as a back up catcher as leaders on this team. Plus, Bonderman's in his 4th year, Maroth (when he comes back) in his 4th year, robertson in his 3rd year as full time MLB starters. Plus kenny rogers who is helping nate robertson immensely since they are similar pitchers. Plus Verlander is a 1st round draft pick a few years ago with 3 way way above average pitches -- the fastball, curve, and change. Not to mention that unlike most guys that can touch triple digits, he is willing to pitch and let the guys put the ball in play a la greg maddux and works quickly which always keeps your defense on it's toes. If they realize soon that they need to get todd jones out of the closer role or he turns it around they'll have one of the best 7-8-9 inning combos in the Majors in Rodney, Zumaya, Jones. Plus, the rest of the bullpen is pitching very well and hasn't had to be used extensively like some of the Yankee/Red Sox/Blue Jays relievers. The SP has been going deep in the games as we lead the majors in Quality Starts (6 IP with 3 Runs or less allowed). Not to mention Zach Miner filling in outstandingly for Maroth and is fulfilling the potential the braves saw in him before they traded him with Roman Colon for Farnsworth last year.
So, again, how is it that the Tigers will automatically collapse, yet the Blue Jays won't?
And I don't expect the Indians to be this bad all year long and minnesota is heating up. So the Tigers might stumble, sure, and the indians/twins could be hot at the right time and edge them out of the wild card.

id love for the yankees to get either one of them, they've both been mediocre in the NL and have got crushed in interleague play (and by interleague play i mean the one time i saw them against the red sox)

NL > AL
baaahahaha.
11 of the 16 NL teams (about 69%) are .500 or below.
6 of the 14 AL teams (about 43%) are .500 or below
The best team in the NL would be third in the AL Central (2.5 GB)
The AL is 86-54 in Interleague play this season.
What exactly are you basing this on?

how can you say the NL is good the only good teams in the NL are the cards and mets.
the rest of that division is subpar IMO
the AL has the red sox, yankees, tigers, blue jays, white sox, all easily better than anything the NL has
look at the division the mets play in every team is under .500 yeah real hard ditto that for the cards with the exception of the reds.
how can you say the astros are good pettitte has been horrible. clemens was less than stellar in his first start back. and oswalt hasnt been in his ace form all year.
playoffs will be
yanks vs a's
tigers vs white sox
mets vs reds
cards vs rockies

Wow a guy that actually thinks the stros are gonna go back to the series.
I think either way the AL team will win it. unless of course Garner can mange the NL all star team to a win, then they might have a chance plaing w/ home field.
NL
I dont think the cardials have it in them this year. there pitching except for the rookie has been horrible thus far, and theve been beat up by injuries alot.
The mets have a real shot, but im just not 100% sold on them yet.
The Reds might be a real sleeper team if they can keep the picthng going and pick up another pitcher/bat.
The astros need to just be consistant, especially in the bullpen. you cant come out one day and be perfect, then the next give up 8 runs in 2 innings.
Im not sure any other NL teams have a real chance besides maybe the Dodgers.
AL
I think the Tigers could be alot like the 02' Marlins that won the series. they have a few things in common great young pitching staff, a team that nobody though was going to be good after a horrible year, and pudge rodriguez.
The white sox look so strong its hard to say they wont be back. they used to be a just a good defenisve team and an ok run producer, now with thome they are down right scary.
The Redsox have the same chance they usually have every year, they are allways very good during the regular season but they either show up or dont in the playoffs, same said for the yankees.
Oakland, Texas & Seattle I really like but from process of elemination id have to pick the As, they have the most solid team of all 3.
Minnesota is coming on strong, they have good pitching, bullpen, and hitting, they could be big contenders if they dont revert back to the first few months.
My prediction for the playoffs and series (at the allmost halfway point)
NL
EAST: NY METS
WEST: LA DODGERS
CENTRAL: HOUSTON ASTROS

AL

WEST: OAKLAND A'S
