Peering up in this dark sky, flames of light reflect off purple rimmed clouds
cigarette smoke daze, blurry eyed haze, and I'm thinking so much about
about
memory, and it's damaging effect on those seemingly incorruptible pills.
It's amazing to me, a Bengali train, seen through the soft pipes of a silver screen, would conjure such images as these
deep swirling, demanding ocean
retching at me to give my soul
long lost friend, he pulled me in
saved my lungs from damning dark waves
gasping for breath
leaving behind death
could these tears really be mine?
and quick screen flashes jog my mind, to thoughts of failure present
failure past
don't forget failure future
Miracles of survival come and go, but no one really makes a big deal
but I guess one metaphor, twice bled out of my innermost depths, can only lead to another, another another another
failure doesn't mean you must die, but you must try again, failure of strength, meet failure of heart, meet failure after failure after failure
this is survival mentality, this is what my mind sheds late at night, this is the night of the living damned in my brain
Heres to the memories! finite to infinity, I can't wait till heaven where everlasting doesn't mean unlimited pain
