A user submitted the following to us:

I was at the Brand New (http://www.absolutepunk.net/brandnew) show in Baltimore and could see the setlist at the soundboard. Demo 6 was called "mamas" and the new song that they played at UVA and Johns Hopkins was called "take apart your head."

I saw them last night in Norfolk, VA. Untitled 6 sounds awesome full band, everyone will be very impressed that has not heard it. Also, they also played that "Take Apart Your Head" song(that's what it's called?) the song that goes "I am not your friend.." .. anyway, it was a very good song as well. They played "Yeah" too of course, every song on Deja except for "Good to Know if I ever.." and 3-4 from Your Favorite Weapon. Good show except Ultra High Frequency, they were dreadful.

Those probably aren't the exact names, 'cause on a setlist I saw for them before they had the song titles abreviated. Probably something close to that though.

yes, yes you do. I asked the sound guy if i could have the setlist and he was a douche and gave it to some girl.

all three live are pretty amazing. 'Yeah' gets better every time i see it played and #6 (Mamas) is so much better full-band.

just to clear up

"yeah" = "i am not your friend" (demo 8)
"take apart your head" = "the storm is coming" (not one of the demos)
"mamas" = "touch me or don't, just let me know where you've been" (demo 6)

when i saw them in starland he said the song didn't have a title yet, i think it was the demo that was completely lyrically changed except for 'shimmering like a penny' (demo 6 maybe?)

They played Guernica in VA? Aw man, I would have liked to hear that. They played everything from Deja except Good to Know If I Ever Need Attention... and Guernica in Jersey.

"Mamas" is a pretty lame song title...but since bands usually abbreviate everything on setlists there's probably more to it than that

Can anyone tell me what time the band's actually have been starting to play. my ticket says 7 PM on it, idk if thats when the doors open or when it starts.

WordzandDreamz
06/24/06, 06:18 PM
whatever the doors is, UHF comes on 1 hour after that time, plays for 30 minutes...15 min. of set up for colour revolt....they play for 30 miinutes...45 minutes of set up for br&new and then they play for about an hour and a half.

stop posting about brand new so much because it is going to alter your opinion on the record subconsciously. i love this band as much as the next kid but either a) your gonna get so hyped over it you will hate it because they "took 3 yeas and it should be better and reinvent themselves like they did on deja" or you will just be so excited to hear it and finalyl get it that you will love it no matter how good it is or isn't. obviously 3 years into the wait it is a little too late now to try and think about other releases especialyl when u feel as strongly about the band as we do, but it makes sense to me at least. now stone me.

How did 5 sound live? I was at the Norfolk show the other night, and they played 6, 8, and Take Apart Your Head, all of which sounded incredible.

I find it odd that none of the demos were even supposed to be on the new album, yet it seems as if they're playing almost all of them on this tour so far.

They're all going to be on the new album, apparently. the band wasn't happy about them being leaked out (not the 9 they leaked themselves, but the new full band versions they've been playing live). That's the reason for the no-camera policy this tour.

Demo 5 sounded fantastic.
