No real surprises this year other than Tobey Maguire nominated for Brothers. Up in the Air lead with 6 nominations including one for that chick who has a supporting role in the Twilight movie series. Discuss.

I love seeing (500) getting some credit here, although I know the Golden Globes are a joke.

I wish District 9 was nominated for more than just best screenplay.

Interesting, interesting. Never thought "Precious" would get so many noms when I first saw the trailer a few months back.

Precious is a good movie but it's so depressing. If you wanna watch someone pretty much get shit on for 2 hours, then when things start to look up, things get even worse....this is your movie. Monique is fantastic in it though.

Sam Rockwell < Tobey Maguire?!, what has the world come to...

Sad to see Rockwell not getting a nom for Moon, I thought that movie was one of the best of the year.

While I think Daniel Day-Lewis or Downey will be the popular pick, I think Stuhlbarg could pull the upset. And I haven't even seen that movie yet.

I completely forgot about Sam Rockwell....I guess the people at the Golden Globes did too.

It's ashame because he was FANTASTIC in "Moon". Come to think of it, he's been great in just about everything he's done.

They've obviously been screened for the academy or whoever runs the GG.

Well since it happens literally every single year, it isn't 'weird' at all.

I've read some great reviews too, so I won't write it off entirely, and the cast is still damn impressive, but I don't think it's really his show.

Yes and so are a decent number of the other movies.

Why does The Office keep getting nominated? Show sucks.

Because tastes differ from person to person.

Best Actor seems to be the most relatively set category so far; Freeman, Firth, Clooney and Bridges are all pretty much locks. That fifth spot will either go to DDL or Jeremy Renner if you ask me. Praying the latter.

Sam Rockwell

although he's given what is the best performance I have seen this year, I honestly don't see the Academy acknowledging it.

Yeah, those four are in for sure, and I think Renner probably will be too (lord knows he deserves it). That would be one hell of a category. What's your guess for best picture? I think there are a bunch of locks there too.
