What do you guys think about hip hop rock bands?

I'm just wondering because I may be thinking about starting up a band thats kinda of pop-rockish with both a singer to sing the choruses and an emcee to rap the verses. What are your opinions on this? It wouldnt be that much like Gym Class Heroes, it would be more like All Time Low with a rapper.

And, my experiences with hip rock and rock mashups, personally is that some are great and some suck... it's more about the quality of the music than the style of music that is played. For example, stylistically No Use for a Name and Simple Plan aren't really that much different, but one is tight and has been an undergroudn mainstay for years and years, while the other was a bubblegum fad that has all but disappearred. Just a thought.

I'll pretty much repeat more of what the other two people have said. If you're gonna make a band,
do what you and your band mates feel comfortable with singing and performing. I've got nothing against
pop-rock with some rap, it's just not my personal preference, but I'm sure that if that's the kind of
style that you all want to play, then you'll sound great and whoever else likes that style of music will
love it.
