Check out what a fan had to say about Bayside's (http://www.absolutepunk.net/bayside) show in New York the other night:
Cops shut down the Bayside show in Albany last night at Saratoga Winners. The show was packed and there were fights all night. Finally some kid got taken away in an ambulance and cops announced over the PA that the show had to stop or they were pulling the power. The crowd had been extra rowdy all night and this didn't help. Bayside announced they were going to play "Devotion and Desire" and the crowd was losing it. The cops announced they had better not and Ant said "well we'll just play until you cut the power then". they played, they cut the power and the crowd chanted bayside for 15 minutes until 10 cops cleared the room. it was pretty insane. I thought there was going to be a riot

It was my friend that was taken away in the ambulance. One of the bouncers tossed him through a window and he got cut real bad. The glass cut some of his tendons and his hand is all fucked up.

Holy shit... what the hell did he do to piss off the bouncer? Is the bouncer going to be fired, charges pressed???

Wow intense. The Bayside show in Buffalo was really quite. Kids were moving around during IATA, fairly quiet but respectful for The Loved Ones, and then there was minimal moshing and crowd surfing during Bayside. I only saw security toss one person and everyone was just super into it and singing along.

This is just what I want to hear, before I go see Bayside tonight at New Haven.
...The only venue in my area where there are Security/Fan clashes. (I remember a dude trying to fight security guards at a Starting Line show....its the venues not the concerts, really...)

Haha, it's kind of funny... I only notice douche bags in the crowd when I go to pop punk concerts.

Well yeah, because it is much more jarring. I was like...the hell is this guy doing at a TSL show...
4 Security guards PUSHED him out of the exit, I loved it.
Hopefully tonight will be less eventful.
I will report in if not...or if they say anything about last night haha.
Bayside shows in NYC are just as intense/more intense than hardcore bands like SOIA, RJ, or TIH.
"BAYSIDE IS A CULT" isn't a joke.

"BAYSIDE IS A CULT" isn't a joke.
I definitely agree with that! Even though my show was quieter as far as rough crowds go just watching 200 kids with their eyes glued to the stage and all of us screaming every single lyrics at the top of our lungs. It was one of the only times I have seen that many kids know EVERY word besides when The Spill Canvas comes to town.

yeah you don't want to mess with the step-up bouncers. they're intense. i remember at the aiden/emanuel show, some kid climbed on top of the P.A. and a step-up bouncer speared him from the 2nd floor onto the crowd.

This has really nothing to do with Bayside but here at The Rave during the Saves The Day show this security guard man-handled this one kid for being a little rowdy. Chris then saw it and stopped the whole show to yell at the guard and had him taken away from the stage. It was pretty intense.

It's shit like this that makes me happy I saw Bayside play a secret show before their new album dropped at VP South.
What on earth is with Bayside fans? First, in Cleveland the fans are storming the stage and trying to kill the singer, now riots are almost breaking out at their shows. What a world we live in.

Toad's is the best place in CT to see a show.
:| geez. when i saw them it was all pretty tame, and then i guess not many people over here had heard of them.
i can't remember ever going to a gig when there was a huge fan vs. security thing going on.. apart from reading festival. (and leeds is 10x worse)

Hah, Yeah. She sucked real bad. She was like punching chicks for no reason. So Anthony was like "You can get your cunt ass outta here" And she didn't leave. And he's like "You can leave now... you aren't welcome here anymore..." and told the bouncers to give her her money back on the way out.
how were they?
They were awwwwesome.

There wasn't even that much fighting at the Can't Stand Losing show I just went to. Bayside being more violent than CSL? Strange.

yeh the house of blues in ac is pretty bad too wit security
last year at a love ones show this one security guard was a total dick and throwin kids for dancing and shit so the singer of loved ones pretty much stopped the show and ripped him apart. it was hilarious. he said "alright dude we get it your the high school football star your jacked and all. we get it but let these kids have a good time asshole"
it was awesome

I saw bayside two nights ago up here in Maine and the crowd was pretty calm for them, but thats probably just because serious shit when down when the loved ones played between the band, fans, and bouncers. I was just glad bayside got to play that night(and became a big fan of the loved ones music, they sounded great live)
that same bitch in providence started swinging at some girl i was with there durring the sleeping, she deserved to get her ass thrown out. her and all her dumbass ass partner douche bag buddies.
it seems bayside tend to bring out a huge hot topic ish following who always seem to get a little too excited and start charging into each other.

Why do kids fight at any show? It's just stupid. It brings down the entire show and makes kids have sucky times, and distracts the crowd from the band.
It's just dumb.

well, their tour ended tonight in new haven without incident. I could tell anthony was being extra cautious since everytime a crowd surfer was nearing the stage, anthony just backed away from the mic. he thanked everyone for taking care of each other.

I was at the Albany show, but I left after the Loved Ones. I saw the beginnings of the dramarama though. First, some (probably drunk) dude was causing a ruckus and three guards tried to drag him out (at one point falling on him, pretty funny). Then, after the next band played (I forget the exact chronology), some wicked goth twistoid kid stormed out of the crowd yelling at a much larger kid who was like "I don't wanna have to kick your ass, kid." The kid chilled by the bar for like 5 minutes, and apparantly he didn't chill very much, because he stormed back over to the kid and started swinging (as an aside, he was wearing a The Used shirt and had long black hair...). Then shit got chaotic. It turned into a brawl or something, like 8 people in a pile. I couldn't tell who was trying to stop it and who was fighting, but the Step-Up dudes charged over and started pulling them apart. One girl was flipping out for some reason (silly drama i'm sure), and one dude took her from the Step-up dudes so they could handle the rest. They broke up the fight and I'm pretty sure this is when a kid got thrown or whatever, cause they didn't all go out the front door and one of the Step-up dudes came back with blood on his shirt and pants. It was brutal, definitely worth the money to go. After the Loved Ones, me and my friends left and there was like 6 cop cars and an ambulance, and the Used kid was talking to the cops and filling out a report or something (not sure why they didn't have him on lockdown since he threw the first punch, unless i missed something that happened in the crowd).
Also, I remember after the first dude got kicked out, Ted Etoll came on the mic and asked if there were anymore assholes. Everyone cheered and yelled no or laughed or clapped or something. Then, 20 minutes later, we found more assholes.
Anyone else there have any details beyond that? I sort of wish I'd stayed for it but I don't like Bayside, so it wasn't worth my time.
