Even in pro-diversity workplaces that practice AA, I think it's still more common for white males to be unconsciously favored for hiring and promotions simply because they are most similar to the guys doing the hiring/promoting. White males are also at a huge advantage in industries based on "good ol' boys" networking (Hollywood, Wall Street, and anything involving Politics are some minor examples that come to mind.)

He's trying to say that there will be less white people than TOTAL minorities combined when white people make up less than 50% of the population. He's not trying to say that a certain minority group will outnumber whites (making whites a true minority.)
