I haven't had much time lately to look for new tunes.
Anyone have any music recommendations, an album thats really stood out to them?
I'm chasing preferably recent releases.

My favorites as of lately would be:

Alias Caylon: "Follow the Feeder"
Loney Dear: "Dear John"
The Republic of Wolves: "His Old Branches"
The First Joke: "& Other Matters" (only the five songs you CAN hear, till the album drops)

Listen to Fuck Buttons' sophomore record Tarot Sport. It's one of my favourite albums of 2009, in which droney electronic music overpowers and hypnotizes you. Every track is a potential standout, and though they tend to follow a fairly formulaic pattern, they do not become dull in the slightest. In fact, listening to the album from start to finish will allow for an enjoyable, surprisingly emotional experience. An immediately infectious album whose greatest strengths can only be appreciated when given some time to unravel.

Same, I like listening to albums once the hype dies down. Also, Thursday - Common Existence.

I never thought too much of that part tbh. It's good and all but it's nothing special imo.

I breezed through Paste's aoty list and found myself picking up Frank Turner's and The Avett Brothers' new albums. Very impressed by both, but am now stressed that so much good music has trickled into my life so near the time I need to start compiling my own lists...X-)

"Friends, Lovers, or Nothing" has the best sing-a-long outro of the year bar none.
