So my brother is friends with the merch guy for brand new's last tour (also the merch guy for mwY) and he was saying the reason why jesse sounds so different between your favorite weapon and deja is because he had vocal surgery.

does anyone know anything about this? or if it is even true?

Yeah, his voice changed and got deeper. However, I'm pretty sure Jesse's a guy. That's what happens when guys get older...their voices change. I'm assuming the stylistic change for BN and the fact that Jesse got older in between the recording of YFW and Deja Entendu has a lot to do with how different his voice sounds.

Actually, it gets stronger, easier to control. It's not so much that it changes as it's strengthened. That makes it sound fuller, stronger and gives it a richer tone. It happens to everyone.
