glassjaw is fuckin weak. i saw them this month in rochester with brand new...i had never seen glassjaw before so i was kinda excited to see them live....and needless to say they fuckin sucked it up. they stood in a circle and didnt move, and sounded absolutely horrible. my advise to anybody thinking about wasting they're money on a glassjaw show is to spend it on a bag of weed insted haha. because they're live show will make you regret it. if it weren't for band new that show would have been a waste...but BN tore it up!!

you're fucking insane.. i was at the same show you were plus the philly date... they killed it at both especially rochester. their setlist was almost perfect... rochester's crowd sucked and didn't go crazy for gj like philly's did... don't listen to the guys above me, i've seen them three times and going for a fourth on dec. 30th. trust me, seeing gj live is more than worth it

hahahahahahaha whaaaaat?? the band didnt move once. they stood in a circle the whole time. and the singer/screamer/whatever sounded horrible. you couldnt make out a word he was screaming.....sounded like a pack of chiwawas barking at one another...if you think glassjaw was good in rochester...then i honestly dont think you have a musical opinion that is at all valid. maybe if they had stage presence at all they would have been ok. but they stood there like they had a pole up they're asses and the singer was just really bad. i dont understand how bands like that get so big. mark my words, anybody seeing glassjaw for the first time with big expectations will be let down as soon as they start they're first song. i wish it wasnt true....but i really am surprised people actually think they were good in the roch. shit was WEAK!

most of the people i know who went to that show said glassjaw was great and brand new gave a pretty mediocre performance.

Why do you keep emphasizing that they stood in a circle? Is that what made it such a terrible performance? I don't get it.

How can someone be let down when someone starts a song? I don't even see your point in commenting back to anyone or even posting in this forum to begin with.

When I saw GJ in Pomona they killed it. Sounded perfect the whole time. I was a little disappointed at the start, because it didn't seem like there was much energy. But that was just for the first couple songs, after that Daryl was going pretty nuts. The whole band practice set up has pissed off a lot of people though. I think they sound amazing though.

When I saw glassjaw in chicago during their short headline tour/some dates with deftones 2 or so years back, they were amazing. I suggest going.

If you think glassjaw isn't a good show to see live, then maybe you're the one with no musical opinion "that is at all" valid.
Glassjaw performs perfectly live, and sound just like their album. You sir, are wrong.
And the whole circle thing you keep ranting about, is no big deal, their music isn't anything to go crazy while playing anyways.

i've seen tons of bands with a thousand times more energy live than glassjaw when i saw them. and them standing in a circle did piss me off. a band playing hardcore music should have some presence on stage, and they really just didnt....the only person who impressed me in the least bit was the guitarist who nobody could see because he was hiding in the back, he played great but just stood in the back and didnt move at all. boring as hell to watch. and the singer just sounded bad..i dont care if you guys wanna talk shit on me for recommending not to see these guys live or not, they did a good job at boring the shit out of me and everyone around me when i saw them. and by saying 'glassjaw plays perfectly live and sound just like they're album' is bull shit. the guitar might be spot on like the album but the singer blows the whole show up, im sorry but my honest opinion is that i would never pay to see them live again. period

after seeing this conversation for about 12 seconds I can honestly say this guys an idiot if he doesn't like them he shouldn't recommend whatever he thinks because he obviously isn't a fan of the band anyway...he even claimed he USED to listen to glassjaw but moved on to the musical greatness of brand new haha well not exactly but you get the point

some bands just arent good live, especially on their first tour in how many years? he didnt enjoy them live, that doesnt make him an idiot. hes giving a reccomendation not to see them because he didnt like them. maybe you are idiots for liking them? no you arent, so he isnt for not liking them.

Glassjaw has a pretty cool ticket & date-specific tshirt combo up for sale on their website, it's the only way to buy a ticket before December 28, so make sure you grab yours now (or ask for a ticket & shirt for Christmas!) before they all sell out!
Tickets are available by clicking HERE (http://www.merchdirect.com/Glassjaw/GJs/March_4_2010_at_Emos_Austin_TShirtT icket_Bundle?productid=11696).

Understatement. I'm not going to lie though I don't mind a few songs from Worship And Tribute.

you lost all credibility right about here.
You would hate Between The Buried And Me live, then. I mean, they play these incredibly technical guitar riffs in difficult time, and sound true to their recordings...but they just fucking stand there.
