Have a problem with my iPod

K, I have a bunch of pictures that I had synced to this iPod awhile ago, and I reformatted my MacBook, backed up everything except my pictures since they were already on my iPod. I want them back on my computer, but I don't know how to retrieve them off my iPod. Anyone know any software that can do such a thing? Or is there a way to retrieve them without downloading any software?

Also, my iPod is a 120GB Classic if that helps.

i also have a problem with my ipod. i dont know how, but the lcd screen on my ipod touch is broken (the glass protecting it is fine). what i think happened is when i wrapped my headphones around it one of the headphones was on the front of the screen and i might have put some books or something on my jacket that night (it was on the pocket for when i walk to class in the morning) and the lcd screen now has one small circle where it is black, the ipod still works but theres just a black hole in the middle of it. i ordered a replacement lcd screen and am gonna attempt to take it apart and change it with my dad. my warranty ran out and its a 1st generation. i am actually getting a new one for christmas (64 gb 3rd generation) and was gonna give my 1st generation 32 gb to my girlfriend who has an 8 gb 1st generation. i pretty much have nothing to lose when taking it apart because it would be useless anyway minus being able to listen to music.

anybody else have this problem? were you able to fix it?
