So, I'm just curious -- are there actually people out there who really enjoy the stupid games before relationships?
The reason I ask is because a guy that I work with and I were getting close, you know that whole "I think you're swell" phase, but then he started to act like he wasn't interested, so I decided to just let it go since he wasn't... then all of a sudden he was interested again, like we spent a couple hours hanging out and towards the end of the night as I was leaving he got all affectionate, so I was ready to start trying to hang out with him or whatever. But then he never called or wanted to hang out or anything, so I was like, "What the hell?" Now last night I decided to give it a last chance because I really want to know what's going on.
I show up at work and we're hanging out with everyone, but he ignores me for about twenty minutes, then starts talking to me normally. Then later he gets a phone call then a little while later the cousin of another of the guys we work with shows up with her friend, and he starts ignoring me and talking to the cousin's friend. I know for a fact that this girl is a lush and a slut, so this leaves me wondering why waste all that time trying to start something with me then turn around and just want to hook up with this girl?
I'm pretty positive that had he not started the "I like you, no I don't, yes I do, no I don't" game, we probably would've been hanging out or dating or something by now. He never made a real effort, but always acted interested.
I guess my question is - one, what the hell?
But really, are there people who actually enjoy these little games? I would much rather be able to talk honestly about what's going on, but in the past he's made comments about some other people we know that made me feel like I wouldn't be able to just talk things out with him, so really, I'm just really curious as to why someone would want to play these games.
