broke.
How the hell am I supposed to have Christmas spirit when your gifts are coming out to be $100 dollars. Especially when I only had $70 and had to spend the money my mom was giving me for Christmas.
Giving should be fun. Should make you feel good. FUCK THAT.
I feel like a broke piece of shit.

I'm pretty sure people understand if you don't have enough money to buy them things. Be happy you are with your family and friends.

This. As I'm going to school now, people realize I can't afford to spend a ton of money on all their gifts. Hell, all my dad wanted for Christmas is for me to get good grades (but I still got him something). For Christmas it's more about the thought behind something rather than the price tag.

gifts shouldn't matter, and if you do decide that you want to give people anything then you should just put thought into it instead of worrying about the price tag. the only christmas shopping i've done this year are for people in need/charities.

hahah that's pretty random. But it's a sentiment that most people share. Christmas is about family, not spending tons of money on presents.

The only ones who can get away with it are little kids. If presents are all that matter to you now.. ehh. I really don't know what to say.

I only got things for people that bought me things, since reciprocation is polite. It still costed me an arm and a leg.

I didn't even get my mom anything because my entire paycheck went towards college, my car and my phone. I feel terrible, but she understands.

Luckily my family is all about spending time together, so my gifts consist more of thought than bills

thought counts more than the gifts people want that may cost too much, especially now
the people whom you get gifts for should understand that
& if they don't, maybe reconsider getting them gifts in the first place

Just dont celebrate christmas. That's what I do, and then I dont feel guilty. You save a shit ton of money when you arent wasting it on a tree, decorations, electricity bill from the lights, presents, wrapping paper, and other weird random christmas shit when you dont celebrate it.
If I had the money, I'd spend it all on my bunny for christmas, I'd buy him a nice little pink bunny house, a nice pink carrying case (to match the pink harness/leash I got him!), pink clothes, some little booties for his little bunny feet, a new litter box, a life time supply of bok choy lettuce, I'd buy him the world. But I cant afford that, and he seems okay with just the raisins I give him occasionally.
Don't spend money on your stupid shit at Hot Topic then you'll have money to buy the people who care about you real shit instead of a picture frame

Piggy back on gifts from others. I've done it for 18 years and i'm not planning on stopping. At least while i'm still poor.

I'm in a 'Christmas Savings Club' at my bank and have been so for a couple years, so every pay week they take out x amount of dollars out of my paycheck and put it in a fund and then in October they put it in my bank account, so I save year round but this year it's like I had to buy for more people because some of my relatives had more kids, and then I became friends with people this year and bought them presents.
But for some people I lucked out because I have the Old Navy credit card and they sent me $30 in coupons, so I got $10 off a purchase for three weeks, so some people's gifts were virtually free. I mean I'll feel bad if they don't like the gift and try to return it and they can't do much with it, but it's the thought that counts and I got them all things that I'm pretty sure they will like.
Or for example, my grandparents love Buffalo Wild Wings and so BW3's had a gift card promotion where if you bought a $25 gift card you got $5 back in a gift thing to spend so I bought 2 of them (one for each of them) and got $10 back which works in my favor because I like going there.
But really, it's all about being thrifty giftwise and otherwise, it's all about being with the ones that you care about =)
i'm going to go with HORNY.

In the past, being unemployed was a pain, but I found that shopping around for bargains often helped.
However sometimes the smallest gift means something. Even if it's just a Christmas card.
