I saw these guys with AFI on Friday and they were awful. Sure they had a ton of energy and the frontman had some strong stage presence, but the music was awful. Just straight up noise

yeah dude, the band is fucking amazing. Miss Machine is CRAZY melodic compared to their older releases. All of the songs have structure if you bother to fucking listen to them. I happen to love AFI, and went to this tour too, and i have to say Dillinger is way better than AFI will ever be.

DEP's new singers name is Greg Puciato, haha. And yes DEP is absolutely mind blowing insanely talented. Even if you do not like the music, you have to admit that. They are super good at guitars and the vocals are amazing.

1. greg was on calculating infinity and miss machine. 2. the 2 guitarist in dillinger have a doctorates degree in music, which means insane talent. 3. DILLINGER is one of the best metal bands around today, one of the only bands doing anything decetly orginal and also doing it better than everyone else.

You guys are honestly telling me that DEP has more talent than Coheed and Cambria, the Foo Fighters, Muse? give me a fucking break.

Greg has only been on Miss Machine(and the Itunes ep). Dimitri was the original singer and was the singer on calculating.
Neither Ben or Brian have doctorates. I'm pretty sure Ben is the only one with a degree and its in Psychology(Don't qoute me on that, I just know he wasn't a music major) Brian doesn't really know much about music theory. I don't know much about James Love(who is Brian's temporary sub) other than he played in FenixTX. The only music major was Chris Pennie. He went to Berklee for 2 years before dropping out for the band. He studied music sythnthesis.
I love Dillinger, they've opened my eye's musically. The songs take awhile to get used to especially anything before Miss Machine. You can't listen to them once and expect to get them, it took me quite awhile to understand it.
One last thing, I am beyond bummed that i couldn't get the dvd anywhere. The local store's order hasn't come in yet and Best Buy had one available but had been misplaced. I was looking forward to watching that dvd tonight. Oh well.

Dude, just stop, your embarassing yourself. First off, Dillinger isnt death metal. Second of all, much more talented than the foo fighters...that is a fact, and i actually love the foo fighters. Everyone of their songs have song structure, just cuz it isnt verse/chorus/verse/chorus/bridge/chorus doesnt mean theres not structure. Their drummer is actually ranked as one of the best in the world. Ill agree the kill yourself statement was a bit harsh, but honestly youre absolutely wrong. Whatever dude, theyre not what your into, but anyone that actually knows anything about music will honestly say Dillinger is one of the most innovative bands in "metal".

the bottom line is that there is probably no band on this planet that could cover a dillinger escape plan song to perfection.
some people try to say crap like "oh dillinger sucks they just make a bunch of noise"
but the fact that they actually write that noise, memorize it, and replicate it over and over again, just shows how amazing they are.
try hitting a bunch of notes randomly on your guitar and playing the exact same thing over again the next day.
