Mike Sullivan was finally fired today. Poor guy was hung out to dry since Chiarelli came on board.

A replacement should be named by the end of the week. Dave Lewis, Pat Quinn and a "mystery candidate" are considered to be the 3 finalists.

If Boston even thinks about hiring Pat Quinn, they obviously don't want to make the playoffs.

Dealing Thornton was probably their best bet because he was a pretty stubborn guy and he would have never played that well in Boston. But they should find a better coach than Pat Quinn.

yeah seriously ..unless this is Cam Neely, Ray Bourque or Bobby Fucking Orr coming back to Boston to coach the team ...this isn't necessary. Just release his god damn name.

Jeremy Jacobs and Bill Wertz must be the best of friends because the way they run their teams is eerily similar. I never thought that highly of Sullivan but I'm not sure any of their current candidates are all that much better. I'm no expert but getting rid of Joe Thornton for significantly less than value doesn't exactly seem to be the best way to build a winning franchise.

bourque IS a scout for the bruins

that said, the GM and coaching position can remain revolving doors all they want

till jacobs and sinden are dead or the team is sold... none of it matters, the bruins will continue to be a second rate disgrace of an original six franchise, just like the blackhawks.

Pat Quinn is an excellent coach, don't know why people give him so much shit. I've loved him ever since he turned around the leafs to make 7 straight playoffs. John Ferguson Jr. is a toolbag.

haha, they had a picture of him in the boston herald the other day and it was there, but it was probably an archived photo.

I like the move as long as the team doesn't need an in-your-face type of a coach. He's really, really passive. but could be a great, great coach. Just not for the awful Bruins.
