I stared into highlights
Focused in on the bright lights
That pushed out any other thought
But in truth I am no deer
I cannot outrun my fear
And the lights engulfed me and I forgot
All the words that we traded
In a flash they quickly faded
And I was left not knowing who I was
So come dawn, I know you'll find me
And find these words still locked inside me
I know it's bittersweet but don't be sad
Becasue all I wanted was to see you smile
But I beat myself into slow denial
Confidence was never something I had
So please forgive me
I'm sorry, I'm sorry
Come and find me, we can be
The glory at the end of an old movie
But I can't keep standing in the middle
Searching for those tiny little
Signs your not aware your sending out
I can't take a leap of faith
and throw it all away in haste
I'd rather be in doubt than all alone.
Becasue what are words but thoughts mispoken
Food for tongues left hoping, groping,
for someway to describe how this feels
So maybe this Friday, I'll see your smile
and then hold your hand, just for starters
and you can tell me, tell me how this feels
yeah, tell me, tell me how this feels
So please forgive me
I'm sorry, I'm sorry
Come and find me, we can be
The glory at the end of an old movie
Come on kid, here's looking at you
This could be our big debut
I could make you a star, kid,
Your gonna go far
I just can't remember my lines
Something about comparing the skies
to the blues of your eyes
I'm losing it all dammit
Just don't sell yourself short
Cause happiness isn't hiding at the bottom of his throat
So please forgive me
I'm sorry, I'm sorry
Come and find me, we can be
The glory at the end of an old movie.
I can't help but think that you're the one
But I guess we'll see when summer comes.
I can't help but think you're the one
But I guess we'll see when summer comes.
