wow is this season a shit storm right now.
did you know that this is the first professional organization to hover around, 10,000 LOSSES (10,078 to date)
ah well... some fan wrote this nice gem.
"Being a Phillies fan is what being a baseball fan is really about. It is the discussion of the game. It is opening the paper or looking on the internet every morning to see there is any news. It is hoping beyond hope that one trade, a new manager, or just one off-season will make the difference. It is Grover Cleveland Alexander, Robin Roberts, Jim Bunning, Mike Schmidt, Charlie Hustle, Lefty, Dutch, Nails, and every other character we have booed and cheered. It is the failures like Scott Rolen who could not take our demands. It is the Pete Rose's who would strive off of them. It is the players who refuse to come here and those who never want to leave. Philly is a unique baseball city. I have seen that from the least to the most prestigious jobs, the old Quaker ethic of hard work is apparent. Philly is a city where every collar is blue. We work hard and want our players to play hard as well. St. Louis will cheer for their players no matter what. New York will cheer for any mercenary in pinstripes. Boston will cheer for anyone who hates the Yankees. In Philly baseball is not about the players or even the team. Phillies baseball is about us. It is a reflection of how Philly views itself. We are loyal to a fault but always believe that better days are somewhere ahead, and we will get there some day."
It's easy to be a yankee, or bosox fan..... but it takes something else to adore a team year after year with 10,078 losses and 1 championship to show for it!
