Cute Is What We Aim For broke Fueled By Ramen's first week sales record, scanning an insane 11k+ copies of their new album. Panic! At The Disco previously held the record, with about 10k first week.
Fucking nuts.

I had no clue that many people were aware of this album. That's insane.

thinking about it now, i didnt either
pv has helped this band out so much
I have a hard time enjoying a band when they use choruses like this "You have a moan all of your own
And I can feel it down to the bone" on repeat. The Bloodhound Gang writes better stuff than this.

Myspace actually...they were on the MTV feature on Myspace band popularity for a reason. Also, being on that feature exposed them to the MTV crowd...who they are catered to, so no suprise it sold well.

I find the songs that I've heard from this band very annoying.
I'm not surprised at all at these sales.

ok my friends and i were talking about this the other night and were comparing them to P!ATD and heres what i for seee
This Cute Album is gonna push somewhere btw 200-350k, and will not reach near the 800k + P!ATD is
*here is why Cute had their big purevolume push way before the album came out which helped build anticipation where as P!ATD got their big push once their album had already came out
*Cute choose the wrong single as opposed to P!ATD radio friendly "We Write Sins Not tradegies" theyre single is not as catchy
*i also believe Cute's week one sales were fueled by a Ton of build up, HUGE SALES theyre selling this cd for like 7 dollars at Target and Best Buy which helped inflate the numbers
well thats just my opinion on how this album will sell i may be way off who knows, we'll have to see
(sorry for gramatical mistakes)

So how many of those do you think are going to end up in "used" bins everywhere?
Be honest...

they've already been heard on MTV...featured in their Myspace Spotlight thing...Cute will get MTV play, not a lot, but some...
I agree that they won't go gold, or come near Panic!'s overall #'s, but still suprised with that first week
