im so sick of this organization. the braves used to be one of the best teams in baseball. i want my braves back. trading away a pitcher that was 4th in voting for the NL cy young for two minor leaguers and melky cabrera is just foolish, and just adds to the fact that the yanks are a juggernaut with basically no salary cap (their first four pitchers in their rotation are raking in a combined 64 mil.).

speaking of that, johnny damon wasnt happy with the amount of money he was getting paid from the red sox, so he went to the yankees. now hes wanting more money from the yanks. seems like every time this guy wins a world series he wants more dough. seems to me hes not in it for the love of the game, and is nothing but a money hungry bastard, but then again i guess alot of athletes are. i think if he were to sign with another team and win another series, he would just ask the team organization to bow to him and call him their lord and savior at the end of the year.

This is however a citywide curse, not just for the Braves. Dikembe Mutombo goes to Philly, and they go to the Finals. Deion goes to the Cowboys, they win Superbowl. Andre Rison goes to Green Bay, they win the Superbowl. And then there's Mr. Favre...

yankees never really wanted to give up vasquez in the first place, cashman was pressured by the higher powers to trade him for randy johnson. im not 100% sure but if this trade is anything like the curtis granderson trade or the cliff lee/halladay trade, those teams were getting rid of someone who would be a free agent within a couple years and ask for too much money than the team was willing to pay them. the tigers were strapped for cash and needed to get rid of granderson before he became a free agent and they lost him completely. not sure if this is the same deal though. although this deal does give room for damon to come back now that melky is gone, but it will be on the yankees terms as they have the leverage and he will have to pretty much accept whatever they offer or they will just go after bay or holliday. that being said i've hated the braves ever since john rocker's public comments about new yorkers and am glad they continue to suck, don't be sad though, at least the mets are down there with you
