American Psycho
I don't understand. American Psycho's main redeeming quality is the fact that every aspect of it kicks ass. Sure Christian Bale is awesome in it, but everything about that movie rocks, from the direction, the bizarre storyline, the awesome weird ass gore, the soundtrack, Jared Leto's incredibly awesome death, "eggshell white" and any real discussion about cards and of course, most importantly, the chainsaw drop, followed by the most hilarious laugh/scream in the history of the world. So by "only" redeeming quality, I think you meant all those things, plus his awesome performance.

This is going to sound ridiculous, but man, John Travolta is fantastic to watch in Battlefield Earth. It's seriously like he's the only person in on a huge joke made to singlehandedly ruin hundreds of people's careers. That Travolta is a ruthless SOB. Movie is terrible though.

I guess you haven't read the book. The film is such a disappointment.

Phillip Seymoure Hoffman in Capote.

Nothing else really impressed me in that movie. I mean, it was good, but nothing completely fantastic.

i read american psycho and still loved the movie.

for the topic at hand, i wasn't a fan of pirates of the caribean, but i'll be seeing the second one just because of how awesome johnny depp is with that character.
