So I know I am going to get bashed after saying this. But.....

I have never seen what is so special about Brand New. Many people I know are literally crazy about them. I have checked out many of their songs, which are decent, but nothing to go crazy about. And honestly, if I listened to them for any longer, I would probably slit my wrists. The music puts me in a bad mood.

anyway, to the OP, you don't look like a troll, so i apologize. my advice is to get used to music that might put you in a bad mood, and give brand new more time to get used to. not all music is meant to put you in a good mood. sad songs, in some situations, may actually make you feel better. also, a lot of bands take some time to get used to, and brand new is a grand example of that. it won't click at first, but after a while, you'll eventually grow to love it (or not). if you try out a lot of bands that are challenging in this respect, you might actually come across some really good music. more importantly, you should go into the official brand new thread instead of making pointless threads like this one, but of course that was already pointed out about a dozen times.

welcome to the forums. if you act like an idiot, people will be jerks to you. but if you stick around, you will expand your music tastes greatly. oh, and by the way, if you ever put down brand new (or any other bands the site is crazy over) without a constructive argument, prepare to be bashed by 90% of the site.

I don't see anything in your original post suggesting that people would take it the "right" way. Seems more to me like you were trying to be inflammatory but unsuccessfully so. "the boy who blocked his own shot" was my immature theme song for 7th grade, but at the end of sophomore year i really related to "logan to government center" because it described my feelings for a girl in new jersey. that and "guernica" among other things helped me make sense of it all after, and the demo version of "good to know if i ever need attention all i have to do is die" is the last song i liked from brand new.

I haven't made many friends on here, and I don't care that I haven't. maybe I'm different that who you seem to be talking about but I come on here because I have a strong opinion about music and I like to hear other people's opinions. it seems to be why everyone else is in here too judging by the high volume of arguments. if there's someone who people would be trying to impress, I haven't heard of them.
