I'm going to assume you just want a "band" made up of our favorites at each instrument, so:

Vocals - Patrick Stump (Fall Out Boy)
Bass - Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers)
Lead Guitar - Ben Harper (Ben Harper & the Innocent Criminals)
Rhythm Guitar - John Mayer*
Drums - Andy Hurley (Fall Out Boy)
Lyrics - Kele Okereke (Bloc Party)

*not a favorite but man can he shred

I wrote this a couple of years ago for a metal site. So here it is, just for fun:

If the metal gods bestowed upon you the power to create the greatest metal supergroup of all time, what would you concoct? Keep in mind that it would have to sound good. For example, Les Claypool of Primus is a great, innovative bassist, and Jimi Hendrix is undoubtedly one of the best guitarists of all time, but I don't think their distinctly different styles would mesh together very well. Any way, here's what I came up with:

Guitar - Tony Iommi
Guitar - Dimebag Darrel
Drums - Joey Jordison
Bass - Tom Araya
Vocals - Jesse Leach

Starting things off is Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi on guitar. His innovative guitar virtuosity paved the road for many metal guitarists. Even with fake fingertips, the licks he wrote over thirty years ago are still amazing listeners to this day. Accompanying him on guitar is the late, great "Dimebag" Darrel Abbott of Pantera and Damageplan. He was a player taken far too early, but his legacy lives on. His Southern-tinged riffs would blend well with Iommi's blues influences. I'd also love to hear the two do a dueling solo. I'd put Slipknot's Joey Jordison on drums. Perhaps I have a soft spot in my heart for him because the Knot got me into heavy music, but I just think he's a damn good drummer, regardless of genre. In addition to Slipknot, he's also hit the skins live with Metallica, Korn, Ministry, 3 Inches of Blood, and more. Tough to beat a resume like that, and he's got the skills to back it. I'd make Tom Araya of Slayer the bassist. He is able to give the low end a nice groove while keeping up the speed and technicality. I would want him to throw in some back-up vocals as well, as he has cool voice. For the lead vocalist, however, I would want Jesse David Leach, formerly of Killswitch Engage and currently with Seemless. He has great range for both screaming and singing, as he demonstrated with KsE. His work with Seemless has a bit of a soulful blues swagger to it, which I believe go well with the guitar work. Further, he writes nice, inspirational lyrics.

Lead Guitar - Whoever it is in FACT that leads
Rhythm Guitar - Joe Trohman (Fall Out Boy)
Bass - Gabe Saporta (Midtown)
Drums - Tony Thaxton (Motion City Soundtrack)

And I'd imagine that because Hayley and Jason are writing the sound would take the best of Paramore and accent the slower songs with Jason- the guitars would probably bring a "different" approach in keying and whatnot. Gabe's experience on bass from Midtown would probably clean up the more aggressive songs, and Tony would just make everything super cohesive and hold it together.

I'm not really sure haha. I've heard that Erak wrote the bass parts (not sure if its true), but when I heard the bass line on f.c.p.s.i.t.s.g.e.p.g.e.p.g.e.p. I was smitten, regardless. Plus I kind of associate Tim with the glory days of Fall of Troy, because I haven't really liked any of their stuff since Manipulator. And he always seemed like a cool guy in their interviews.

I think all of these bands would be awful. Songwriting, guys, songwriting. Successful supergroups are so few and far between.

And Sepultura's on Max's resumée, can't forget that!

Bit of a strange choice with Zac on drums there, I would be interested to hear him play in a metal setting
