Cartel (http://www.cartelrocks.com) will be part of an upcoming Cartoon Network concert series; their performance is scheduled to air on July 7th.
....
Why?
That's horrible.
Seriously, what the fuck, it's bad enough that 12 year olds are listening, now my kid brother will ask me for their CD. Honestly...

I don't understand all of the fuss over younger kids listening to the music 'we' do. I'd rather have my little brother listening to Cartel or some band of the sort than have him listening to crap. I think it's awesome that kids are starting out young listening to good music. Meh, maybe it's just me.

When I read that, my face did this:
However, I can understand getting their music to a wider audience, but Cartoon Network viewers...really?

It's a bit strange, but I guess the publicity will be good for them...

i really dont understand why people are bothered by this. They are one of the catchiest band on the planet and the kind of pop music kids seem to be into these days, thanks to the Fall Out Boy craze. This band will probably get huge, but not cause of something like this...I'm still waiting for their TRL spot.

It doesn't bother me in the slightest, but you have to admit, that is some strange news. And why the hell is Cartoon Network doing all these live action things recently?

Back in the days of Dexter's Lab and when they played Looney Tunes for like 8 hours every night.
I think this is actually cool, I mean at least my younger brother may get a better taste in music now.

yea but, we obviously all new that something like this would happen. they have the catchiest sound out there and can be marketed to any audience. too bad they couldnt stay our little secret.

That's cool. I don't have Fuse or Havoc Music or anything like that, and it's hard pressed to find any good music on MTV, BET, or VH1. I'm glad some of "our" bands can get the exposure they deserve.

Don't forget that the Cartoon Network isn't JUST targeted at little kids. This could be on Adult Swim couldn't it?

yeah thats what I was thinking, Cartoon Network and Adult Swim are completely different and have very different audiences.
And how is Cartoon network doing a concert series when all of their programming is cartoons? Are they going to animate the bands? That would be crazy
quixotic

Actually, I think Cartoon Network has played the movie Dumb and Dumber at least once so they don't stick to just cartoons all the time.. I bet it will be on Adult Swim though.

i look forward to it. maybe then they wont put on peewees playhouse like they keep saying they are haha. they do do some live action stuff, like saved by the bell was on for a while, but i feel that any exposure these boys get, good for them. they deserve to be heard. i also think its good for younger kids to hear too

adult swim and cartel doesnt make much sense
cartel could be played on nick jr they are so family friendly
that doesnt take away from how good there music is..or to make them seem childish
they just arent explicit in anyway
LOL? Too strange... but cool in a sense.

Okay, so it's a bit of an odd promotion, but if they were on Nickelodeon, I'd be more worried, in all honesty.
My 10-year old brother is in love with "Honestly" though, and I couldn't be happier. I don't want him to like the awful pop-sugary shit out there. He's like me, and digs on Fall Out Boy and Cartel, and even the Format! As long as the Cartoon Network's viewers aren't standing next to me at the next Cartel show, struggling to hold up devil horns and crying...I'm fine with this.

I think they should use a different plan to get big and populer, but whatever, either way it's going to happen.
