Customizable forums?

I think it'd be pretty cool if users could customize the forums so that they could "delete" (ie. hide) threads they don't want to see. For example, if a user was sick of the "dear fiancee" thread or other threads that are constantly near the top, they could "delete" it, thus making room for one more perhaps more interesting thread. Thoughts?

That's a really good idea. I don't know if it's possible to do that though, I could be wrong though.
