Sports Writers?

What if once a week we have someone write an article or a few people write articles on certain sports.

7 days a week... - mlb, nfl, nba, nhl, college football, college bball, other sports? Of course we can have a few people for each based on different regions. Idk, it is just an idea. Anyone interested?

i worked at a newspaper writing sports for a few years a long time ago. i miss it. i always wish i had a place to write articles.

Ive already made a couple threads using saber stats that I like. I was actually going to make a thread called "toughest division in baseball" and use pythag records like I did for May as my main argument. I'd be more than happy to do something like that. I could also do runs created, EQA, GPA (which is basically EQA), FIP, and other such stats to highlight parts of the game. Or I could give a run down/tutorial of saber stats if people would like.

Probably should do it whenver...but agree to avoid posting articles about the same sport on the same day...like, if you have an article ready, post it, unless you see one of the same sport already up...it will keep the discussion varied

sounds good...I'm not going to start writing college b-ball stuff until kids start reporting to their schools, unless something really good comes up...

Like Preppyak would oversee the college basketball, someone would for college football and one for pro football, etc etc... or if someone's doing like a certain conference or something the same thing would apply, you know?

i was pretty late in getting in on this, so sorry if i'm bringing up something already spoken about..now, is there anyway a few of us can collaborate on articles? i'm pretty knowledgeable about baseball all around along with bigmike, brokendown and the boston dudes. i wanna be involved, but having 32943 people covering baseball is rough and takes away from overall coverage of sports. so what i'm proposing is having like, co-authors of articles or something. there are some pretty nice voices of reason around here just to take away the general bias any of us may have, and i think it'd be a way for more of us to get involved, instead of making it a super super elite thing. well, whatever. either way, i'm sure we can organize this and get it going.

I'm a Boston sports guy, but I live on the west coast. I'm not sure how good it'll be, but if you need, I might be able to find something do with Oakland or SF. I would be more happy with Oakland because I agree with their baseball operations department.

i will write anything that no one else wants to write about probably. i'm not exactly at the prestige level of anyone else around here, but i'm thinking about going into broadcast journalism in college and i feel like this would be a big help for me. i would love collaborating or writing singularly, and i will be completely willing to write on any subject.

Well I think we are going to try to max it @ 3 articles a day. Everyone send me their articles and I'll do my best organize it so the same things are not being talked about. I am going to write a weekly round-up section for monday about the funny shit that has happened, hot girl athlete/cheerleader for the week, etc.

When football season comes around we'll have someone write a brief summary highlighting the games.

A few people have ESPN insider on here and they can be the one to post rumors and so forth and they can do it for all sports.

Basically, outside of pro basketball I'm down to write on anything: hockey, college/pro football (big ten), college b-ball (big ten), college baseball (big ten), pro baseball (al central. i could probably do nl central, though).

trust me, being a tiger fan, you'll enjoy what the analysis says of Detroit.

Ill give you a little taste actually....

using the formula I used, if Detroit played to their RS/RA differential (which by the way, as of june 30th, they've allowed something like 290 runs, best in the league) they would win 106 games, best in all of baseball. However, right now, they're playing .032 above their projected winning percentage (RS/RA differential). They're at .688 right now and they should be at .654. Either way, its best in the Central.
