I liked the Backstreet Boys in 1997, and I'm not ashamed to say that I still like the Backstreet Boys.
Nsync is garbage, but Just Timberlake is great.

BSB had more overall talent. But Nsync had catchier songs and a better live performance.
I gotta stick with my Boys on this one, though.

Backstreet Boys. They seemed to have more staying power and their songs had more substance. Yeah, I'm talking about engineered boy-bands here, but, I think more effort was placed on the BSB crew. "NSYNC just sounded like a retarded New Kids on the Block and Justin's vowel pronunciations were annoying. "It's gonna be MAYYYYYEEEEEEE!" Screw that.

My choice of Nsync (and I despised both as a youngster) is totally based on Justin Timberlake's staying power and decent voice.

BSB by far, they had way more hits, and better harmonies in their songs. NSYNC had JT, but he wasn't cool back then.

N'Sync, all the way. So much more versatile and the stuff holds up better. No Strings Attached still gets a lot of play on my ipod. Some of the later stuff is even kind of like Justin and his backup group at times (watch "Gone" on PopOdyssey, it's like a glimpse into the future), which is interesting to see now.
