The whole show was awesome, Dillinger was out of control, they played their whole last song while an advertisement projection screen was being lowered down on them, basically telling them to wrap up. The crowd loved Glassjaw, and Thursday is always amazing live- it was their best holiday show to date.
United Nations sounded good, but Daryl had nothing to do with their set. Geoff did all the vocals. Maybe I just didn't recognize them, but I didn't see anyone familiar in UN, they played as a 5-piece, but Daryl was definitely not a part of it, which was a shame considering he was at the same venue, and Geoff could've used the help cause he was sick and his voice was giving out. During the Thursday set, Geoff mentioned that Daryl and him had started UN 6 years ago, and Daryl's schedule has him working on it less now, so maybe he isn't contributing to UN anymore in any sense.

yeah, i figured UN was playing because both thursday and gj was there, but it was just geoff singing. if im not100% wrong im pretty sure he only plays guitar and does backup vox in that band, so im confused as to wha that whole thing was.
also when they cut dillinger off it was the most metal thing ever. they cut the house lights during the last song, and dropped the projector, and eventually cut the mic out, and faded up the house music, but the band kept fucking playing. everyone was recoring it, it wil be up soon

Kinda bummed Thursday's set got cut short because of DEP. I was right behind the soundboard and saw that the encore was supposed to be 4 songs (Jet Black, Tomorrow I'll Be You, WATT, Love Has Led Us Astray).

What! I would have killed for that encore.
I don't think it was Dillinger's fault though. They only went like three minutes over their set.
Did you happen to see what song Thursday was going to play but Geoff was telling them he couldn't?

oh rly? maybe had to do with his voice, dep didnt go over that much. also i could have sworn when he came back on he said "what one do you want us to do first?"

That was one of the coolest things I've seen at a show in a long time. I was on one of the side risers looking down, and the view of the crowd while Dillinger was closing was insane, the whole floor looked like chaos.

mine are pretty bad today. i knew with those dillinger vocals, even standing in the back, it was not gonna be a pleasant day

Hahaha, me too. I usually have a pretty quick recovery period from that, but I'm still feelin' it today.

I got a copy of Thursday's set and there were 4 songs they didn't play that was on the setlist. This Side of Brightness was supposed to be after Ressuciatation, there was a "???????????" after Standing on the Edge of Summer which could've been a spot for a request, and the encore was also supposed to have Tomorrow I'll Be You and War All The Time after Jet Black. Reallllllllllly bummed they didn't play them.

I don't know if it's already been said but, Daryl didn't even do vocals on the UN record. He really has done nothing but contribute to the concept, and (probably) the hype.

It's funny that people claim Daryl really had nothing to do with United Nations when Geoff himself told me that Daryl played guitar and did some vocals.

i thought geoff was saying that daryl and him started UN 6 years ago but lately daryl has been focused on GJ and less involved - hence no guitar live

Ditto. I wonder what the question mark song was going to be. It's a real shame that they didn't play the songs that were left off, especially Tomorrow, I'll Be You. Once I saw the setlist, I was most disappointed about that one. The set and performance was awesome as always but it would have been better with those songs. I hope Geoff gets some vocal rest and feels better.

yeah, that's what he said. i just wish the guy who sung the first time i saw them was there with geoff on backing vocals again.

I'm a little disappointed people thought this was the best holiday show thus far -- despite the line up, everything was so off. Geoff's voice was fucked, the sound guys fucked up on everyone's set. It felt like a total shit show.

I have been to three of the holiday shows, and I definitely think this was the best overall show. Thursday may have played longer and Geoff wasn't sick other years, but in my opinion, just on the lineup alone it was the strongest. Glassjaw, United Nations and Dillinger all had terrific sets, (43% Burnt while that screen was down was unforgettable), and there seemed to be little down time with any of the opening acts. Other years, even with some excellent openers, I was itching for Thursday to get on stage, this year, the openers were just as enjoyable.
