i don't get trading charlie v.
so much shit was dished out for drafting him where they did. and he panned out and made toronto look like they knew what they were doing.
then, trade him after one year. makes no sense to me.
i like tj ford though.

i know, i dont really get it either. but mike james is gone and toronto needs a PG in the worst way. they have bosh and now bergnani up front, so i guess they thought PG was a bigger need. who knwos

I haven't really followed the Raps, but if they still needed a good PG who can play, they got one.

Yeah but would you trade your first round pick from last year who averaged 2nd to Chris Paul in every major category for rookies?
Plus, why would they need TJ Ford? They have Mike James. He's a free agent, but they should just resign him.

james has stated numerous times that he isnt re-signing with toronto, thats why they did this deal. still questionable since they gave up the 2nd best rookie from last year

Ahhh well they picked Bargnani in the draft. I guess they figured they replaced him.

Ahhh well they picked Bargnani in the draft. I guess they figured they replaced him. there was a James sign and trade rumor for Marquis Daniels, but I think it ended. Anyways this was a good move for Toronto to get a point guard like Ford. I don't know anything about his salary, but yeah, good move. This also helped Bargnani out a lot, gives him like 8-10 more minutes

I don't get this trade for Milwaukie. So Moe Williams and Bell in the backcourt. Magloirre (sp), Bogut, CV, Joe Smith and others in the front court. More trades coming from Milwaukie?

They want to deal Magloire. Mo Williams is a solid player too.

Ah. It'd be cool if the Blazers could somehow get Magloire. Cause Pryz isn't going to resign with us if SA and Chicago are goign to make runs at him for more money the Blazers don't have a center. There is a rumor in Portland htat won't happen butt I heard something like Randolph, Miles and a filler for Magloire and Simmons

That would be horrible for the Bucks, Randolph is so overrated, plus Bucks just got Charlie.

Yep. That was the rumor before the trade though. Zach did well when he got the MIP because the Balzers were still semi descent and had other weapons. Now that other teams know that zach is the only one that can score he doesn't nearly any points besides garbage points. And he's lazy as fuck.

A truer statement has never been typed. When I woke up this morning and read this I was horrified. Not that I'm a Raptors fan or that I think T.J. Ford is a bad player but Villanueva was huge for them last year and was only gonna get better. I tell you, Colangelo's moves are starting to look more and more stupid. I didn't like the Rasho trade (although it dumped his contract from my team :D ) and I can't say the draft was all that good. Eh, maybe it'll turn out but for now, if I'm a Raptor fan, I'm pretty pissed.

I like this trade. We desperatly need a PG and I think Charlie V is a little overrated, Toronto's shitty-ness got him more playing time and more points than he would get on any other team. And we already have Bosh... and now Bargnani. How many power forwards can 1 team need?

yeah, I like this deal too. I think Charlie could be sold high right now and that's exactly what Toronto did.

TJ Ford's health issues would concern me for sure. I know he had a big year last year and all but once your back screwed it usually doesn't heal permanently,

this is a pretty flase statement. toronto being shitty has nothing to do with his production. they had five players in double figures, with three players ahead of him. he had some great games against some of the leauges best big men, elton brand, ben wallace, jermaine oneal, and dwight howard to name a few. charlie is going to be a damn good pro, and the bucks just got away with highway robbery on this trade.
i think the real reason the bucks traded for him was because of that 48 point 9 rebound game he had against them at seasons end.

But I doubt it. We'll see next season.

why would his production and his ablitiy to perform at that level matter what team he's on? its going to be charlie v and bogut down low for the bucks this season. charlie will get more touches than bogut, and id expect to see very similar numbers this season from him. maybe a bit higher at 15 and 8.

I would say it would go down because he would get less ball time on any other team. I guess the Bucks could be an exception, but I still think he's a little overrated and Toronto made the right move.

James isn't that good... had a career year, but every Raptor fan will tell you he's not a good PG. They hate him, he's a shoot-first PG that the team just doesn't need. Plus he's stated he's leaving.
Honestly, I think Colangelo is overrated as a GM. Nash paired with D'Antoni just saved his ass. He just plugged in good shooters into a system where all you do is run and shoot. Obviously drafting Amare and acquiring Diaw were good moves, but the team really didn't take off until Nash arrived. Signing Nash was smart, but it wasn't some creative, great GM move.

They sold Charlie high? And all they got was TJ Ford. I am a diehard Bucks fan...I watched nearly every single game of last season...and the Bucks made an amazing trade.
TJ Ford is just not very good. He is too short, too skinny, and can't finish his drives. Sure, he can get to the hoop pretty easy, but when you can't make your lay ups, what is the point? I got so frustrated with TJ this season..so many missed layups. His shot selection was also pretty bad. For being known as a pass-first point guard, he took a ton of bad shots. His jumper is horrible too by the way.
TJ also had bad chemistry with Redd and Bogut...you could tell he just really didn't fit in with those guys. He also butted heads with Stotts numerous occasions.
I can say some good things about TJ though...he really is extremely fast and quick. He can outrun nearly anybody on the court. He also is a really exciting player to watch and makes some flashy passes and crossovers.
I don't really know much abotu Charlie considering I only saw him play when the Raptors played the Bucks but I can't say I'm too sad about seeing TJ shipped out.
He also butted heads with Stotts numerous occasions.
If he butted heads with Terry Stotts, he and Sam Mitchell should have a very interesting relationship.

Yeah...I agree. The main problem TJ seemed to have with Stotts was that he felt he was far too controlling. TJ didn't feel he could do what he really wanted to on the court because Stotts had too much say into how he would play his game.

I'm just not sure Ford is the man for the job. I would have rather them trade down in the draft and take a guy like Brandon Roy and pick up another player on the side than only having Bargnani.

that would of been a better deal if they could of done that but i guess they have a lot of faith in Bargnani, personally i think he'll be a flop like almost every other european player
