....Let's discuss.

Do you think it will have any effect on Jered, you know, taking "big bro's" spot in the rotation?

fucking about time, now i can pick him back up in my fantasy league and drop john patterson.

i think he will be fine. seriously, he cant be worse than his bro has been

No. He should feel pretty good. Good for him.

Jeff Weaver hasnt been half as good since being in Detroit. Ask Yankee fans about that one.

jered > jeff. i dont think it will affect his pitching at all. let's just hope he keeps up the good work so my fantasy teams can fucking pwn. i dont care much about the angels, they wont do much the rest of the season as far as contention goes. for whatever reason, idk if it was because of bartolo colon or the loss of molina or what, but the angels are losing their flare. they were good the last few years, but are really lacking this year.

psh. he was good for comic relief, with his water cooler antics. he was worse than paul o'neill.

the dodgers were talking about picking him which is absurd considering they couldnt wait to get rid of him last year

coming soon to a Braves rotation near you: Chuck James, Lance Cormier, and Jeff Weaver.

....I'd shoot myself.

And actually I believe adding another REAL starter to the Braves rotation would boot Cormier back to the pen. Hudson, Smoltz, Ramirez, James are the SPs right now...until John Thomson stops with his Josh Beckett antics (finger blister)

Blue Jays? hahah just kidding. As an Angels Hater, this is bad news.

i bet jered throws some sort of in-house temper-tantrum that we don't hear about.

I don't think he will. It's not like Jeff was 8-4 with a 2.50 ERA.

You can't really argue against 3-10, 6.29 ERA with an opponent's batting average of .309.

if you're a teams #1 pick and they're paying you a boatload of money, you can get away with complaining about alot of things.

this is definitely a smart move, i dont know why they sent him down to the minors in the first place. and after seeing colon getting destroyed the last couple games the angels sure could use jered.

because they wanted to trade the Older Weaver so they had to keep him into the rotation but he sucked badly and they needed good pitching desperately

the only reason jered weaver signed a contract with the angels was because they promised him they would sign his brother...the angels had no intentions in picking up jeff but it was the only option to sign jered

Why do you say that? Because of LAA's disappointing season? That would be very stupid.

There were tons of rumors of him for Crawford. Chances are he will be gone for an all-star quality outfielder.

No the Angels need to call-up Curtis Pride and trade away Vladdi hahah

But do you think their little agreement involved them saying "Even if your brother is pitching absolute horseshit and losing us a bunch of games, we'll still keep him JUST for you, Jered?"

...I don't think so. He can throw an immature little temper tantrum if he wants to, but the bottom line is this: HE had dominant performances in his 4 starts. Jeff was blowing goats. The worst pitcher from the rotation has to go. Unless Jered was willing to stay in AAA all season just so Jeff could be in the rotation..

The whole Angels rotation is doing bad though. It's fun watching their games and seeing them lose.

I didn't say Jeff was the only bad one. I said he was the worst. I'm not sure of all of the other guys actual stats, but I find it hard to believe anyone else in that rotation was 3-10 with a 5 or 6-something ERA (I forgot the actual number--5.29 maybe?)

Colon 0-4 5.77 ERA in 6 starts
Escobar 5-9 4.13 ERA in 15 starts. But today he pitched excellent against the Dodgers, 7 in, 0 runs
Lackey 5-5 3.31 ERA in 16 starts. Decent, but that's not good at all
Jeff had a 6.29 ERA 1 off
Santana 8-3 3.92 ERA in 16 starts
Yes nobody was as bad as Jeff, but the Angels aren't dependable to give run support. I say they give up this year, and prepare for next year.

yeah, if jeff pitched for the white sox he'd be like 6-3. just look at john garland.
