It's summer, it's the weekend, and I am on the biggest Blink-182 (http://www.blink182.com) kick right now. Go listen to all of their albums and discuss favorite songs, lyrics, and memories of this incredible band.

'I Miss You' Is one their best songs. They were going in the right direction. If they had stayed together they probably would have done their best work. My favorite albums were Dude Ranch, Cheshire Cat and Blink 182. I grew up on this band. They were the soundtrack for my middle school years. Everytime I listen to one of the old albums it makes me miss those days.

i have to say that i, along with every guitarist i know, were all pretty stoked when we started playing guitar and we learned that opening riff to Dammit. and there is not a song on Enema that will not maintain status as a pop punk classic for the rest of time. RIP blink

Haha, this describes how i've felt the last few days. In the gym, all i've been listning to are Blink cd's. the self-titled is so good, they definately made a great progression. Go and Asthenia are soo good played back to back, and the whole album is fantastic.

I remember one weekend Mtv played every single piece of Blink-182 media they had all day. Man Overboard and it's video are both awesome.

favorite blink song: dammit (boring choice)
favorite blink album: take off your pants and jacket (unusual choice)

definatley my favorite blink memory is when i seen them with new found glory at suffolk downs in the summer of 01' . not only was it my favorite time seeing them(other than when fenix tx opened for them) but it was probley the best concert i've ever been to. nfg played pretty much everything of their selftitled and blink were just amazing. i'll never forget it.

I think TOYPAJ is overlooked, but Dude Ranch is a fine, fine piece of work. It's what got me into Blink after all - "Dick Lips" is a great song.

Then again, for me...Blink did no wrong, even when they got popular on TRL and were literally everywhere you looked. I thought about giving up after Enema, but wouldn't you know it...TOYPAJ reeled me back in, in one of the best summers of my life.

Thanks Drew for making me want to go listen to some Blink.

truly a band that chaged the music all of us listen to. they made popular what might not have ever gotten that big. just amazing guys that always made people laugh and enjoy their shows. their best cd has to be the mark, tom, and travis show. it has all of their best songs with a lot of joking around and showing who they are. they could make anyone laugh and are amazing live. hopefully they make a comeback and ill be the first in line to greet them when they do.

They're going to be back. Brendan from Atticus was telling me the other day about the split. It was planned since the untitled album came out. They were going to tour and such and then call a break. A BIG BREAK. They were all going to go do their own thing. Why they called the break at the time is questionable. Mark and Tom needed a break from eachother and they still consider eachother best friends. They'll return as blink once AvA calms down (and Tom get off his fucking high horse) and once Plus 44 calms down as well. Mark and Travis are still the same people. Tom is fucking insane. I can't even pick a favorite song by blink or even a favorite album. They're amazing. They always will be...

that is random. i just downloaded the full discography a couple days ago (mainly cause i didnt have cheshire cat) and i have been listening to it non-stop too. cheshire cat was the first album i heard that turned me on to punk and "alternative" music, as in an alternative to pop crap that was on the radio at the time in my hometown.

Actually I am on the BIGGEST Blink fix right now. I have been rockin a ton of Enema and Dude ranch, but I have incorporated stuff from all their discs in their material. I even bought a really tight HURLEY sticker with just the H logo. I think when it comes down to it, they are my favorite band ever. Being 23 years old makes What's my Age again so cool again. And how can you beat Apple shampoo, that song is one of my favs ever. in my book none of their new bands will come close to blink, infact it is depressing. it is funny how I can listen to them over and over and never get tired of them. Their music makes me remember so much stuff, and also there is nothing better than crusin unknown streets in the middle of no where, lost as hell at 3 am with some blink in the background on another fun summer night!

drew-is-cool
07/01/06, 12:05 AM
ohhhh, sweet Jesus. how i miss/love my blink. it hurts me to know Mark and Tom basically hate each other now....And as excited as I am about AvA and (+44), there's nothing either of them can ever do that will compare to just how special blink-182 was....I don't give a fuck how epic Angels and Airwaves is. It will never be as special as blink.

But anyway, the untitled record is definetely their best. I love that record....But my favorite would have to be Jacket. I think it's really overlooked, because that's about as perfect as pop-punk can get. They're the KINGS of the genre.

They don't have a song I dislike...and I'm pretty sure Tom could fart into a microphone four 75 minutes and I'd still pay fifteen bucks for it. They got me into music, and the lifestyle, and everything.

And I can honestly say I owe my life to blink-182. At a shitty point in my life, they were the only thing that made sense to me. For days I'd sit and listen to every blink record over and over again and sheild myself from the bull shit.

they mean so much to me...it's almost pathetic. Which is, coincedentally, my third favorite song on dude ranch

"Cacophony" and "Wasting Time" - I know these are typical, but I still love these songs...

"I'm Sorry" and "Pathetic" - I like every song on this album, but these two haven't been mentioned.

"Dumpweed" and "What's My Age Again?" - Dumpweed is a no-brainer; What's My Age Again is so much fun

"Every Time I Look for You" and "Shut Up" - I remember listening to these a lot; I also like Reckless Abandon

"I Miss You" and "All of This" - really good tracks...huge Robert Smith fan.

I can't even say how much I love blink.. and everytime I think I've finally gotten a little bit tired of them, there's always something that drags back in and just makes me think "I can't believe how good they are" all over again! I just waited weeks for a bunch of cd's I ordered and got them today, but seeing this thread.. I couldn't help spinning a blink-album instead..
My favorite song is pathetic! (I don't even know why, I don't even really think it's their best, but it just always meant more to me than others)

I can say without any doubt that without blink, I would have never become the person I am today.

best memory. a few months before the unfortunate 'hiatus' the $1 tour made it's way through Minneapolis. there were people there who had spent $150 on e-bay for tix! it was madness. the place was packed! it also happened to be Travis' b-day, so they dropped confetti EVERYWHERE. it was awesome! one of the best shows ever!

Blink 182 is still my favorite band to this day like millions of other kids they introduced me to alternative style of music I rember seeing the whats my age agin video on mtv 7yrs ago and it compltly changed my life there was finally a music scene for me.I m kinda in ahurry so sorry for all my gramtical errors. My favorite album from them was thier untitled album its probably one of the best albums Ive ever heard. I wissh they would have kept going I think if there untitled album would have sold ore copies they probably would have stayed together.my guess is tom probably thought blink dayz where over (the album only sold 1 million copies) so he jumped shiped that and they couldnt agree on writing credits and various other problems. But that niether here nor there I think blink deserves more credit than they got and I m glad that this site recognizes that.

Are you kidding me?

Without Descendents- Milo Goes To College there would be no pop punk.
That's true, Tom would have never picked up the guitar if it wasn't for them.

favorite blink memory (one of them): first time i listened to enema of the state (it was the first album i ever owned where i liked every song on first listen)

I remember that exact response as well.

M&M's.

I thank Blink 182 for everything I listen to today. Even if it isn't pop punk.

I second that.

Blink 182 is my all time favorite band, I wil never stop listening to this band. Their Self - Titled album is probably my favorite but it's hard to pick. Mark Tom and Travis show I love so much because it includes so many cds and great songs. It's fucking funny as hell too. I can't pick a favorite song or album really.

this whole thread makes me want to watch both Urethra Chronicles dvds......first one is the best one though. i basically memorized the entire thing when i was in junior high

watching the secod Urethra Chronicle is worse, because Mark is like "Tom's my best friend. He's like me in another dudes body. I love him more than anyone. I positive we'll be friends until we die" and Tom says something along the lines of "He's the best person I've ever met. I'd do anything for him. He's the best friend I've ever had."

and now they DONT EVEN TALK!!! i honestly cry every time i watch it. I break down and cry like a ten year old girl.

TOYPAJ was my summer album of 2001, even though I had just graduated from HS, I still played it non stop.

God Yes! That album brought me into this music... The majority that come to this site is because of a blink album

fav song: untitled

blink has had a huge impact on my teenage years.

the first time i heard their music, something just clicked, i was OBSESSED for a long time. i never really felt like i fit in with all the preps and kids who listened to dmb and rap at my school and i was looking for something better. when i got into blink it opened me up to this whole "punk" scene, which i am so glad that i found back then.

god, it sounds so lame now, but when they first announced the hiatus, i cried for 2 hours and was depressed for the rest of the week.

their self titled tour in the summer of 05 still ranks as the best concert ive ever been to.

blinks just great. i could go on for hours about how much i love/miss them, but i won't. besides i think almost everyone whose posted in this thread also has some type of huge appreciation for blink also.
