I'm fucking pumped for football this year. A lot of teams had great drafts and off season signings. This is going to make for some great football.

Teams that I think look great:
Carolina
Dallas
New England
Indianapolis
Kansas City
New York Giants
Seattle

Arizona def have a lot of potential, could go either way. One thing is for sure though, they're gonna be sick in Madden.

I don't think they'll repeat. They're dece, but I thought last year's playoffs included a lot of bullshit.

Beating soundly a team that almost went undefeated? They won the super bowl. They will be even better this year.

How so? They were a wild card team last year. Without all of the injuries they had last year they were division winners and a 3 seed.

you know what pisses me off? how much espn rides the patriots dicks.

seriously, this is a team that was good last year, but nowhere near what they have been. and they basically did NOTHING this offseason, and yet the espn "experts" rank them in the top 10 in like every category

Without 1 big injury - Carson Palmer...They could have lost the 1st round too?

And thats not the way it happened. The playoffs are very much a lucky thing. I was more referring to regular season where we finished with the same record as Cincy, DESPITE all the injuries.

you're from Brick, there is no WE involved lol. Anyway, what was the injury report?

How ever that isn't luck? It was a costly injury. So if we are talking about injuries, it doesn't matter when they happen, if they're costly. However this Pitt team is not better. Why? they won't be going to the super bowl.

Their 11-5 record didn't warrant how good of a team they were even if they did ghet lucky in the Super Bowl.

I root for all Pittsburgh teams. My family is from Pittsburgh, so that is why.

The point is the playoffs are one game each. The Steelers outplayed all of their opponents and won.

What I am saying is, they, as well as many previously proved that all you need is to get into the playoffs for anything to happen. Without the injuries last year they win 14 games in the regular season.

be prepared to be torched by culpepper 2 chambers on opening night :)

GB had the 10th ranked defense or something around there last season. Additions of Manuel from Seattle, Charles Woodson, and AJ Hawk add so much to the D, and Harris Barnett KGB Kampman Tripplet are all solid players.

fair enough. i just didnt think their D was that great last year.

Hawk is a beast though, forgot about him. charles woodson is the most overrated player in football IMO

Haha. I hope our young guys in the secondary step up this year so we dont have to start a guy like Willie Williams for half of the year.

hahahaha yeah right...

please explain how they look good?

rodney harrison had a knee destroying injury where he lost all three major tendons in his knees.
our corners are samuel and gay
we lost mcginest
corey dillon is a corpse and we have a rookie and kevin faulk backing him up.
our only good wideout is holding out for a better contract.
we have martin gramatica kicking

about the only thing good right now for this team is the defensive line and tom brady.

know something before you open your mouth.

ESPN doesnt know shit. they said jay cutler was the best QB in the draft.

look at the patriots roster and you see the truth. no depth anywhere, especially on offense.

they have arizona ranked as the 11th best team in the nfl.

im sorry, i know they will be good, but they are unproven. how can you put them there?

and the patriots thing still kills me. this team will NOT BE THAT GREAT! how can they not realize this? even pats fans admit that their team isnt great

They said Baltimore is like the 2nd best defense in the NFL. They have a good defense..but is it better than some other teams that they had behind them?

mikeford
07/01/06, 01:07 PM
the pats will SUCK

they will probably only finish 2nd in the division though because the rest of the teams are straight up fucking HORRIBLE.

the bills and the jets suck way more than the pats but i expect the fins to win that division. behind joey harrington, of course.

i think the jets and bills may be right up there with san fran for the worst team

and yea, go fins! culpepper will be ready for the opener though, book it

yeah but i think culpepper sucks and eventually JOEY, aka the best QB ever, will lead them to glory

but the real question is, why the fuck are you a dolphins fan if youre a ny/nj metro area fan for pretty much everything else?

no, the fact that you don't know how effective or beat up big ben may truly be. and i don't think that they will win the super bowl. so maybe i should say they won't fare better in the season.

This makes me sad. I'm not gonna throw in the towel yet but some of our moves in the offseason have made it look as though Scott Layden's running the show.

You think McNair at this stage will be able to do what Boller didn't?

McNair will be hurt by week 3.

You think McNair at this stage will be able to do what Boller didn't?

In short, yes. While Boller has a very impressive arm, he makes bad decisions and is a slow starter. I think McNair is an upgrade over Boller. With that said, if Boller can pull a Drew Brees and have a good training camp and preseason, and earn the starting job, I'm all for that, if he plays well in the regular season.

McNair will be hurt by week 3.

Probably, but he plays hurt, and he plays well when he's hurt, so I couldn't care less as long his ability as a quarterback isn't hindered and it translates into wins.
