Hey everyone out there in Ap.net land. My name is Russ Hockenbury and I've just been hired on here at Absolutepunk to do reviews of the hardcore/metal variety. Though, I'll try to sneak in some offbeat indie stuff for all you NY/LA folk too, don't worry.

For the past four years, I served as Editor of www.upbeetmusic.com (http://www.upbeetmusic.com). There I reviewed anything and everything, along with writing the wildly popular (in my mind) Eisley Darringer (http://www.upbeetmusic.com/articles/22) stories. Yes, I'm that cool.

I doubt you remember who the fuck I am. I worked for UBM for like 4 months and then it went under construction for a long while, I promised to still write reviews and stuff, but never came around to it.

Great job with the jena berlin review, glad to see you appreciate them as much as I do. Band needs a bigger label and people would start to notice. I saw them with Olympia and jb were miles better.
