expect in the next couple of days. not huge news, but he did what a player is supposed to do during a contract year. the suns offered 3 years and 12 mil, with the clips offering 4 years 24 million. hmmm.

he carried the suns for a few games in the playoffs ...i know he's been hit or miss throughout his career, but i like this move for the clippers.

well I guess this saves money for Diaw and Barbosa next year. But we did lose two 3 point shooters with Thomas and House out
Caleb's any insider on people were considering?

Possible swingman candidates who might consider a veteran minimum deal include Utah's Matt Harpring, Charlotte's Jumaine Jones, Eric Piatkowski and Jiri Welsch, whom Phoenix nearly traded for in 2005. Harpring might be an affordable small forward after two microfracture surgeries. The Suns may not be able to afford Jackson, Speedy Claxton or Rasual Butler.
"We need to get the most versatile guy who can help us in the conference finals," D'Antoni said.
The possibility of James Jones being dealt this summer for monetary reasons seems far more doubtful now that the Suns did not land the swingman that they desired in Wednesday's draft - namely Thabo Sefolosha, but also Rodney Carney or Ronnie Brewer. It also squelched Marion trade talks, which got hot this month.
Moving Jones and Kurt Thomas could help Phoenix keep its core together in 2007-08, when the payroll may jump because of contract extensions for Barbosa and Diaw. The Suns have until the end of October to negotiate with Barbosa and Diaw but have mentioned that one or both could wind up as restricted free agents in July 2007, when Phoenix could match offers on either one.
The Suns will hold a free agent/rookie camp Wednesday and Thursday. The roster includes former North High and Arizona State star Tommy Smith, former Brophy and University of San Diego standout Nick Lewis and Massimo Bulleri, an Italian national team point guard who played for D'Antoni in Treviso.
Nevermind, I answered the question thyself

I like this move for the Clippers. If he plays like he did in the post season then we are set. You can always use a good clutch shooter.

This man is crazy inconsistent though. At least he does have skill.

true ..but i think the window on the spurs is closing. They are getting older and a decline is inevitable, but I don't think it'll be for at least 2 years or so.
The Mavs on the other hand, are just getting started. I think they'll be at the top of the league for years to come. Dirk has become a true superstar and Terry is coming into his own ...the road to the NBA finals is going to go thru Dallas for a long time.

i kind of agree. yea the spurs are gettin old, but you still cant count out duncan and ginobili. parkers great in the regular season but he just disappears in the playoffs. im ashamed to say that right now, the mavs are better. but if the spurs make some good moves, actually keep a draft pick and have him develop, they could still be in the mix for years to come. if not, i say they have another 3 to 4 years at the championship level.

kerry kittles? alvin williams? but yeah, i guess youre right. if thomas stayed for even another year he wouldve been so much better i think
but that stops here with foye, lowry, and hopefully ray in the league now

I hated Kerry Kittles. He dove for a ball one time when I was at the Nets game and landed in the second row. He took his sweetass time getting back in the game. He walked around a row of chairs rubbing his head and stuff while the play was going on. I was so confused, he didn't even jump back on the court. He walked back on.

Don't the Spurs also have like 2-3 solid draft prospects playing overseas as well?
I honestly don't think they're going anywhere. They're incredibly deep, and have the best scouting in the entire league IMO. Duncan isn't exactly old, and Ginobili/Parker is still one of the most menacing duos in the league. If they could just get a better Center to pair with Duncan, they'd be tops IMO. Hard to lose with such great coaching with Pops.
Agreed that the Mavs are stacked, though. Terry/Harris is a great young backcourt, with Dirk the star, Howard the athletic freak, center position locked down with shotblocking/rebounding, and good depth.
If Kupcake ever addresses defense and speed on the team, and if Bynum develops (he's a real wildcard...), watch out for the Lakers. They're building some nice depth with some pretty decent drafts of late. We'll see how Kwame and Lamar can continue their play this year though before I start declaring anyhting. ;)
Anyways... nice signing for the Clippers. I hate Tim Thomas for ruining my May, but the fucker is clutch as hell. Nice replacement for Vlad.

yeah and Thomas is a better defender too so that is a plus as well.
