With each passing day, I hate Larry Bird more and more.

:shake: Pacers will not make the playoffs next year, unless they make some good deals this summer, getting rid of Jackson and Tinsley. But Larry Bird is our GM, that won't happen.

them not picking Marcus Williams is more confusing than the Knicks taking Balkman that high.

No kidding. Instead let's just pick a shitty version of Danny Granger.

Tinsley is such an enigma. Letting Peja walk is certainly not the smartest move.

yeah. and then they took another wing player in the 2nd round. completely confusing.

but it helps the pistons. if only you'd trade JO to the west or something to help us out.

My two fav teams are going in opposite directions. Bucks are actually improving their roster, while only God knows what the hell the Pacers are gonna look like next season. I might be in chronic depression next NBA season.

I'm a Nets fan and a Knicks fan. Needless to say I will only be a Nets fan this season. I go to tons of Nets games anyway. Who needs the Knicks?

Balkman 4 PreZ!

As a Pacers fan, after the draft I was growing somewhat concerned. In all honesty though, what will the Pacers be with Peja? A low seed right? Without Peja, they'll be the same. I think this is the right move, get Granger starting, resign Freddie Jones, deal Tinsley and Jackson for picks or inexpensive athletic bigs or bottles of gatorade, sign an athletic big and an athletic backup combo guard with the $12 million you didn't spend on Peja. Let's say they go after Speedy Claxton and Wilcox or Gooden. Let's call it Wilcox because he would be cheaper. I like that team more than one with just Peja.

PG: AJ, Claxton.
SG: F. Jones, White.
SF: Granger, Williams.
PF: O'Neal, Wilcox.
C: Foster, Harrison.

Not only do I like that a lot more than last year's team, but it's younger and more athletic, higher chance for catching a run and having a great year because East teams can't keep with them. This is all assuming Bird makes smart moves and Carlisle would actually change his schmes to fit his personel. Two big assumptions. If they went the direction I suggested it makes the oldest players in the top 10 AJ (31), Foster (29) and JO (27). That would be awesome and fun to watch.

Btw, in a straight up choice, I would take Granger over Peja. I think if they let Danny start this year he's going to be a star, that is if he gets more aggressive. Sometimes he was just too tentative on the court.

I survive, barely. Although my school in Idaho is basically Washington, Moscow is the border between Idaho/Washington. I'm planning on moving to Seattle when I graduate.

ohh dude, that seems like it can't be fun living there. Don't get me wrong I have nothing against those places but those places seem so empty.

The fact that Peja is leaving doesn't get me really mad, what pisses me off the most is that we traded Artest for virtually nothing.

StandMyBrothers
07/01/06, 07:52 PM
Stojakovic, who last week opted to become a free agent instead of continue playing for Indiana, will sign a five-year deal worth about $64 million with the Hornets, said his agent, David Bauman. 64 million to probably finish out his career, not bad

fuck, so we traded Artest away for nothing. Great job Bird and Walsh, you fuckin dumbasses.

FondestMemory

artest needed to go though. things were only gonna get worse.

and it freed up his salary and now peja's. if there isn't another move made, i'd be pissed. but they're heading in the right direction.

They handled the Artest horribly. They should have traded him for Maggette, injury or not. And the draft was horrible, adn they'll probably fuck the Tinsley and Jackson trades.

Also, I recently talked to one of my sisters basketball trainers who is personal friends with JO. He said that JO isn't happy in Indiana and doesn't mind being traded, but he isn't going to ask for one. :( Sad days ahead in Indy.

i agree that they should have gotten more for him. the whole thing was a fucking mess. but i don't think it's a total loss.

at least not yet. if they do fuck up getting rid of tinsley and jackson, then the offseason was a waste. but there's still hope.

I don't know how they will fuck up getting rid of Tinsley and Jackson. This is one of those addition by subtraction situations. Getting rid of those two bitches will make them all the better. Personally, I would have traded everyone but Granger, AJ, Freddie, Foster and Harrison. Blow the team up, just get some positivity in the lineup. Go young, embrace the people you want on the team.
