id say sam i am gets alot of offers from other teams. he's a great leader, he's a good clutch shooter, and was a big part of the clippers success last year.

I know what you're saying but he was offered big money and a long term deal. He is 40 years old.

straight from espn:

Cassell had said "it's looking pretty good" for the Clippers in an ESPNEWS appearance Saturday afternoon, and that appeared to be the case as the Los Angeles Times reported Saturday night that the guard had agreed to a two-year, $13 million deal with the team.

The 36-year-old, who has voiced concern about his ability to secure a two-year contract from the Clippers, recently hired veteran NBA agent David Falk.

I dont know where you get your news from but it looks like he got what he wanted.

Exactly. ESPN just said he turned down a long term offer. It never said anything about a short term deal.

I'm kind of torn on the Vlad signing. On one hand, he's a Laker killer... a fantastic 3 point shooter, who will thrive playing off Kobe. Finally someone who can play effectively off of Kobe, a good shooter. Will open up the lanes for Kobe and Lamar, and will keep the D honest. On the other hand, he's a matador on D, and there goes the money to sign Marcus Banks. The need of shotblocking is still not addressed and Lamar is at PF with Vlad at SF, two below average defenders. Oh well, we'll see how it plays out
