Another funny thing, I actually didn't drink until after I was married, which just so happened to be when I was 21. I'm now 22 and, contrary to what your peers may say, drinking is not the "coolest thing ever." Sure, I enjoy drinking with some friends every now and again, but it's really not as exciting as everyone made it seem in college and high school.
I think drinking is actually pretty boring. For some reason, alcohol doesn't seem to impair me mentally -- only physically. So I've had scenarios where I'm completely lucid, but also fully aware that my motor skills are off. And I find that state to be quite unpleasant. Hell, the only reason I even got to that point was because I was out with friends for New Years and they were absolutely insistent on the drinking. Fuckers ran up a $1000 bar tab that night. Thankfully I only had to chip in $50 for incidental foodstuffs.

So yeah, long story short, I'm of the opinion that boozing is a huge waste of money and liver function.
