Soundtrack to a Headrush and Black Earth Tiger are two of my favorite albums of all time.
"Listen up, mother fuckers! This is that new, unheard of, unspoken. So if you're down, then get down. And if you're not, then get the fuck out!"
Thoughts on the band?

Those are both great albums. I really like the direction they took with Black Earth Tiger.

Be aware, Black Earth Tiger is a bit of a departure from Soundtrack. More of a Deftones influence, I'd say. It's great, though.

I've seen them a few times in Louisville when they were still a local band, but never checked their albums out.

well my tastes have matured since Soundtrack so it shouldn't be too much of a problem. will listen to it tomorrow, though. i do like the single, Cottonmouth.

I saw the first show then their singer switched from guitarist/singer to just lead singer, it was super awkward. Saw them like 5 times after that, always a good time. Soundtrack was such a good record

I remember I bought soundtrack on a whim at a music store in 06, it was a truly amazing record, I still spin it regularly, I was never able to get into black earth tiger though, I just couldn't feel that album, I've gone back to it several times, but I just didn't connect at all, such a shame, band had huge potential, I also remember feeling the production on the album killed it too

Its sad that these guys dropped off the planet like they did. They were my favorite band for such a long fucking time.

I felt the exact same way the first couple times I listened to BET.. it's so much darker and the production is so raw that it was a huge change for me, but I really got into it after a few listens.
But, as the saying goes, "I like their old stuff better" haha..

I've been jamming Soundtrack literally every day all day for the past 2-3 weeks. Such a great album. From start to finish it just kills. The lyrics are awesome too.
Next week will probably be Black Earth i just have to find my copy somewhere.

This band is so amazing and totally underrated. Hope they come back for another album sometime soon.
I enjoyed Headrush, but when I heard the second album was a huge letdown and thought it totally sucked.
Never really gave it a second chance.

Unlikely. Check out the blog Matt wrote on Emanuel's Myspace page called "Me in 09" or something like that.. I messaged him on Myspace about six months ago to ask about them and he said he's ready to move on and start another project. BUMMERZ.

Soundtrack to a Headrush kicks ass, Black Earth Tiger is truly truly awful. Bought it and instantly regretted it, no musicianship at all it's really a shame they followed such a strong album with that crap.

I know tons of people that feel that way. After hearing STAH I definitely didn't expect the route they took with BET.. it took me a few listens to find the gems on it and appreciate the change they made. Parts of the album are absolutely haunting to me, and lyrically it's fuckin awesome. I'd encourage you to give it another shot though!

I totally agree, Emanuel has been my go to band since I was 14 haha
I am 20 now and still jamming their shit to this day.
STAH is my favorite record of all time hands down, everything about that record was just sheer brilliance.
BET I will admit after years of waiting for a follow up to STAH the first time I spinned that disc I had no fucking clue what they where thinking.
but, after repeated listens there really are some gems on that record and it def grew on me
check out the tracks: Phobos (it's catchy as hell) Cottonmouth, Scenotaph, Forver, and Anthamatics

I absolutely adore this band. Amazing, amazing band. Both of their records are pretty much masterpieces to me. Soundtrack absolutely destroys, and I think I'm one of the rare few who were able to get into BET and see exactly what they were going for. It's such a dark, sludgy, beautiful piece of art. I wish more people understood and related to it.
I really wish this band would come back, but it's obviously not going to happen. It's a shame, because they totally destroy all of the lame scene bands people love today. When I first heard them, I thought they were going to be absolutely huge. They did big things, but they should have achieved even more. It's a damn shame that people weren't into BET enough for the band to be able to sustain themselves. It's also lame that they tried something different and people just didn't get it and jumped ship on them. I love this band so much; They're all super cool, and their rap-project 812 Dirty Squad is awesome.
It's funny, me and my best friend come from really different musical backgrounds, me being brought up on punk rock and whatever, and him a product of his parents loving 80s metal. Emanuel is one of the only bands we can meet in the middle about since we always think each others musical tastes are pretty odd. It makes me enjoy this band even more.

I miss this band so much, so much memories with Burnout Revenge and Hey Man was my jam back in 2005.
Then i've forgotten about them until i buy a french magazine with Cottonmouth on the sampler and i remember being amazed by it.
I like both albums even if i prefer STAH, Black Heart Tiger is underrated and contains some incredible songs.

All I want, more than anything, in relation to music, is an Emanuel reunion. I miss this band so much. I wish they would just play a proper last show so I could get some damn closure, haha. I really just want to see one of my favorite bands so much. None of them even play music anymore, it's such a bummer.

Does anyone know what exactly happened with this band? They were seriously one of my favorite's in middle school/high school. And I still listen to them all the time. However they just disappeared. Really bums me out. Fucking miss this band so much. Anyone know if the members are still alive? haha
