I'm not trying to. I just don't understand why niche artists and niche scenes are fine, but covering niche regions is out of the question for you.

It doesn't pertain to my reigon....I'm on the opposite side of the country. Most of those bands are indie music (which i can't stand). Chances are i'll never hear them/see them live. I won't go out of my way to check any of this out.
