I've never listened to anything but the gym radio when I work out, and even then I'm not really listening.
As I Lay Dying
The Autumn Offering
blessthefall
Underoath
Killswitch Engage
etc.

Henry Rollins once said he listened to Slayer. I'd take that advice.

I can't lift to anything that doesn't make me extremely pissed off.
I've had to put the Gym on hold for a month or so due to lack of funds, but my usual rotation consists of Terror/Hatebreed/The Acacia Strain/Parkway Drive.
Also, just listen to a CD straight through, dont skip tracks or anything.
I like old Senses Fail and old Silverstein. I Took a Beating by I Am Avalanche is probably my favorite lifting song (or Cute When You Scream)

I personally like to work out to heavy stuff or rap. Eminem's Lose It is my favorite work out song, and then I also like to work out to Emmure, Notorious B.I.G., Emery, A Day To Remember, and basically anything that has break downs. Also, techno and electronic music can be great for a run or a workout, and The Crystal Method in particular is pretty good.

I find that physical activity is much easier when you aren't paying attention to it, so I would reccommend your favorite band or some other band you love.

Stick on some thrash metal, that works.
Sepultura's 'Beneath The Remains' or failing that, any thrash metal from the 80s.

Music while working out? I usually listen to everything from Orchid to Japandroids to Born Ruffians. I don't need to get pumped, I'm already pumped being at the gym.

I agree with this...also listening to album with lyrics that you care to pay attention to works or an album I haven't heard before keeps me distracted.
Old skool Guns N Roses, Metallica, Offspring, hell throw in some Limp Bizkit. Aggressive heavy stuff.

I am also looking for music to listen to while working out, but I feel like everyone's answers are only metal and that's not what I listen to, ha.
