Good. Maybe in a little bit I can enjoy a bowl on my front yard instead of huddled in my room like a heroin addict.
takes half the fun out of it!

I'm personally tired of going through shitty drug dealers or middlemen. I just want to cut the bullshit and buy some weeds.

Exactly, and I'm sick of shaving a few years off my life every time I get pulled over or some cop dicks with me when I'm walking.

Yes. If not now, then later.

I always thought Canada would legalize it before any of the US legalizes it.

There was a recent poll showing that 56% of Americans think it should be legalized. Or was it 54? Either way, thats more than half the county. Thats one small step in the right direction.
PA needs to get on board.

hahahaha. So funny because it's true, and it sucks.
Thankyou for the great post.
Also, I have never met anybody who was like "weed ruined my life."
I've met tons of people whose lives were ruined by alcohol.
Makes no sense.

I know some people who said 'weed ruined their life' and it made them 'lazy', so they stopped smoking it. Now they soberly sit around and do nothing all day. One of them married a lesbian in the military so he didn't have to get a job.
Weed motivates me. When I'm stoned, I create.

And I have to highly, HIGHLY disagree. Not saying its a sure thing, but it definitely has a big chance.

I dunno, man, California is probably the most progressive state in the Union and they denied gay marriage.

I like how most of the people rooting for this don't even live in Cali, lol.
I doubt it'll pass, honestly. The closest state that ever came to passing it was... Alaska? I think? And it was like 44% of the vote.
Not sure how I feel about the debate; however, I know for a fact that I find it absolutely ridiculous how much people get penalized over a harmless plant.

There should be a public awareness campaign where all stoners should be sober enough to remember to vote in favor of regulation.

i just reposted this info for my Californian friends via facebook. I'm sure at least a few of them will do their part. Thanks for this thread, Chris.

Medical marijuana in NY please?
caveBEAR
01/11/10, 12:21 PM
I couldn't care less about the medical marijuana, I just want decriminalization for non-dealer amounts...that would just make my life peachy.
I should have specified regulation, not just medical.

Ha ha ha ha, yeah, I just don't want to get the sweats because I have the same amount of green on me as a high school freshman.
It's rather ridiculous. I never smoke anywhere but inside (porches being the exception) anymore and don't go out to get it, so I feel moderately comfortable. Moderately being the key word.

Yeah, I used to be like this, too, (still smoke inside a lot...especially with it being so damn cold) but the best part of a good high is a good day, not living like a mole person in my room, I wanna go to the beach or the park or the store, what-have-you without being fucked with for simply living.

oh yeah, I will smoke and then go out. My eyes get notoriously red, so after some eyedrops I'm good to go. Being high and doing things > being high and sitting around.

I got one of those 'roll your own cigarette' things...it's great for taking a 'cig' or two for a walk. They even sell paper that looks like real deal cigarettes.
It's a shame we have to hide this shit so much...

It was legal to have up to 4 ounces back in the 70s.

it's still legal to have under an ounce.
our growing laws are schizo though...it's legal to have up to 20 plants, yet it's illegal to cultivate.

depends on who's in office. fricking murkowski tried to make it as illegal as meth a few years back.
the populace voted to make it illegal back in 90 (thankfully that was deemed unconstitutional)....but i think we're a little smarter then that now.

I dont know though, I remember my 8th grade health book saying that weed was 400 times more dangerous than a cigarette, and that you could go insane from it.

i hope you stood up and told your teacher that your health book was filled with complete and utter bullshit.

God. I would be thrilled if this passed. Unfortunately, i doubt it will. People have this idea that marijuana is dangerous and is going to cause the whole world to go to ruin ingrained so deeply in their minds, it's going to take a looong time before it's legalized.
However, i was talking to one of my dealers yesterday, and she told me that she's terrified of grass being legalized. She said it would totally destroy her business. Which made me laugh, seeing as i'd never really considered that aspect before.

How is Jersey going to handle non-medical cases of people with weed? The same as they were before?

nice school. suprised he wasn't fired.
i lived down the block from there....used to walk to the 2go mart (think it's just a liquor store now) across the street from wendler to buy slushies before getting ripped.

I think he quit at the end of the year, some teachers were a little bit crazy. I wasnt even supposed to be going there, I lived in those apartments that are along the highway by Target, so I was supposed to be going to Clark.

America is slowly, but surely becoming more tolerant of marijuana being a medicine and recreational drug.

A bill to legalize adult recreational use of marijuana - and allow the drug to be sold and taxed in California - cleared a key hurdle this morning, as the Assembly Public Safety Committee voted 4-3 to move it to the next step in the debate. But a Friday legislative deadline could mean the legislation will die before making it to the Assembly floor.
