just bought fight club for 5.99 (sweet deal). i think i have a good comprehension of the messege in the movie, but will somebody explain (in detail) everything about this movie. i am very curious and about to go watch fireworks.

The book is better, and im not just saying it to sound cool.

The detail that Palahniuk gives is astounding and I wish I would've read the book before ever seeing the movie.

Yeah, the book is XXXrated, while the movie is Rrated.

But the book is great and the movie is a good adaption.

But for the explanation, um, get a huge fan to explain it to you who has no life.

Alright..
I haven't seen the movie yet, but in the book, the main character is unnamed and goes to work every day, but gets bored. He starts visiting testicular cancer groups and pretends he has it. He meets a so called Tyler Durden and befriends him, then Tyler starts a fight club. This fight club turns into another fight club being started, and pretty soon there are fight clubs everywhere. Then Tyler Durden makes a soap factory where 100 of his cult followers and the unnamed person make soap out of peoples fat. In the end of the book/movie.. you find out the unnamed person and Tyler are a split personality which shows the unnamed person IS Tyler Durden and hes a skitzophrenic (I think?). And in the end he kills himself.

That took awhile.. I think that hopefully clears up your confusion about it..
It is a pretty fucked up movie/book.

Exactly, they'd just be silly.

I've got the copy with all the extra bits on the end it's really good. I had imsommia last year and I couldn't watch it for ages 'cause I was scared it would happen to me haha.

I think they did as good of a job with the movie as they could. norton and pitt were awesome in it

That would explain why I don't know what the hell his name is. I'm going to see the movie soon anyway. I read anohter book by this author and he has a really fucked up mind.

For some reason people call the narrator Jack. Even though he is never mentioned as Jack in the movie or book. I never got that.

my english teacher made us watch Fight Club in class, and we just assumed his name was Jack. But that's a good point, I never realized they didn't mention his name.

That is where it would come from, but those quotes come from the journal's that the narrator found in the house on Paper Street. Therefore people who call the narrator Jack need to pay better attention to the damn movie and/or book.

Your English teacher should do you all a favor and have you read the damn book before watching the movie. I mean come on, it's English class.
