i'm not really sure where I standon this but, if you're pro-attacking Iran, then don't complain about gas prices because once we attack them, prices are going to shoot way up since they'll close one of our major sea lanes that we use to ship petroleum back to the US.

It's not like anyone has a crystal ball. Yeah we make deals with shady people, a lot... my enemy is your enemy so we're friends type deals. It doesn't always work out longterm, but it isn't always the worst idea at the time.

How can you can say good for them, when they bombed your country? It never works, ever. And don't use WW2 as a comparasion because it's nothing alike.

Yes I understand the real concept of communism, and it sucks. By default it gives way too much power to the government, who by the simple nature of being *a* government will be corrupt.

That is in theory. And in practice, it works out exactly as such, communist governments have always been massively corrupt. Power to the people? If only.

And I say good for them because despite being terrorist assholes, what they were doing THEN was fighting against a communist oppressor who was straight up brutally invading Afghanistan in an attempt to use them as a military post and spread communism. Some short-sighted people would try to claim our Afghanistan "invasion" was similar, which hopefully needs no real explanation as to how off that is. Russia wasn't going to let Afghanistan have free elections, for starters.

And yes, it does work actually. It DID work then. No one could have predicted that 30 years later they would attack our WTC. And in a way it is working now. A lot of our help lately has come from Pakistan, another asshole country. Maybe they will screw us in the future, maybe not. At the moment they're helping though, so you roll with it.

It'd be nice if all our allies were clean and had no blood on their hands. But then we would really only have one allie, Switzerland. And Switzerland isn't much of an allie since they refuse to ever do anything.
