Vagrant (http://www.vagrant.com) has signed Alexisonfire (http://www.theonlybandever.com). The label will release the bands new album, Crisis, on August 22nd. The press release is below.
July 5, 2006) Vagrant Records today announces that the company will release CRISIS, the third full-length disc from rock band ALEXISONFIRE. The St. Catharines, Ontario-based quintet have set August 22, 2006 as the release date for Crisis, the highly anticipated follow-up to the band's breakthrough sophomore release Watch Out!, which reached Gold sales certification in only 12 weeks. Crisis was recorded at the famed Metalworks Studios and Silo Recording Studios and was produced by Julius "Juice" Butty.

"We are excited to release the new album through Vagrant," says vocalist/guitarist Dallas Green. "It's a fresh start for us in the U.S. and we're really proud of this record. We're especially excited about being on the same label as The Bled, and Moneen, who are great friends of ours."

Alexisonfire (alexis on fire) released their first full-length in 2002 on Distort Entertainment in Canada and quickly became one of the few hard rock bands to break into the mainstream market. The band, comprised of Dallas Green (guitar vocals), Jordan Hastings (drums), Wade MacNeil (guitar, vocals), George Pettit (vocals) and Chris Steele (bass), has been singled out for numerous awards including the 2005 JUNO award for łNew Group of the Year,"a MuchMusic video award for "Best Independent Video" in 2005 and have had 5 of their videos in heavy rotation on MuchMusic. The band has toured the U.S. multiple times including national tours with Rise Against and Hot
Water Music.

The band joins the Vans Warped Tour on July 12th in Los Angeles, CA and will be appearing every day on the Vagrant/MLB stage the largest solo label stage in the history of the tour.

yes. because they are playing shows to the same crowds rather than reaching out to a wider audience.

If the rest of the songs on their new album are as good or better than the new ones on the internet, this could possibly be the album of the year. Great signing by Vagrant.

this is good for the band...and their second album is very good. They are not aiden and they kill live.

This band is so good live.

When I saw them with A Wilhelm Scream and TREOS, there was a girl that wanted to stage-dive, so the singer stopped the band and made them play some fast hardcore, youth-crew-ish style. It was pretty damn funny. And a countdown was given before the girl took a long running start to jump into the crowd.

I saw this signing coming from a mile away, with the Moneen split and all. Very smart signing. Next, they should probably sign my band. haha.

I thought it was weird when I saw their name on the ad for the Vagrant stage in Alt.Press. It also said they were releasing their new CD. I thought it was a mistake, or they were just playing on the Vagrant stage. Now I guess it makes sense. Good for them for signing with Vagrant though, its an awesome label.

This is great news. I was getting scared that Crisis wouldn't have a release date in the states. Someone explain this Dallas - Protest the Hero feud, please. Lastly, like 80% of the posts for this thread have been completely fucking retarded.

They are really already on an imprint of a major in Canada.
Distort Entertainment is basiclly a major label imprent, its an umbrella of Universal.
Interscope, is another branch off of....wait for it...........Universal
it only makes more sense for the band to be on Vagrant in the states because the money is still going back to the same place. As for anyone saying this band sounds like Aiden they should be punched in the face and never be allowed to listen to any music ever, Alexis has been around long before Aiden, They're music is much tighter, more technical and alot fucking better then Aiden. Aiden is the most generic wannabe hardcore/metal shit band on the planet. I HATE Hawthorne Heights but i'd listen to that band any day over Aiden. For gods sake that band is like a walking advertisment for any make up company on the planet they fucking suck!

Basically Protest The Hero was on tour saying a lot of shit about Dallas' manager and calling him out. Dallas' friends showed up to a PTH show looking to fight them, then a little while later while PTH was on MuchMusic, Dallas stormed into the building yelling and screaming and freaking out.
