View Full Version : Bands who will fade away soon enough

As a bit of a counter to my other topic from today, what are some bands who are currently enjoying success in the scene who for better or worse, probably will fade away within 3-5 years?

I'm a fan of a lot of these, but some bands who I see fading are:

The Devil Wears Prada (love them, but the majority of the fanbase seem to be trendhoppers)
A Day To Remember (I think their next album will make or break their continued popularity)
Four Year Strong (their formula will get repetitive and people will lose interest if they keep it up)
Chiodos (matter of time unfortunately)
Brokencyde (I give these idiots another year tops)
A Skylit Drive (I can see them keeping a dedicated fanbase, but not a large one)
Bring Me The Horizon (one of my favorite bands, but I see them having nothing more than a cult following in a few years)
3oh!3 (fad at best, already losing relevence)
As Blood Runs Black (it's been nearly 4 years since the last album. Fans won't wait forever)

I was really hoping nobody was going to respond to this thread. And it was succeeding for awhile.

i just dont know why people pay this much attention to bands they dislike. i hate all of those bands too but that doesnt mean i want them to stop having fun like, living a life i want. more power to them for that.

if this is another list-bands-you-hate thread in disguise, then this thread is a huge FAIL.

If I remember right, they tried to record an album last year but didn't get around to it.

If people would invest more energy into things they enjoy and like as opposed to the opposite, well I'd go on a limb and say it would be more rewarding.

Some of these bands will fade before 1 year, let alone 3-5.

This thread can be summed up as, every lame excuse for pop punk band that is getting a slight bit of popularity at the moment will not be popular in two years time.

We the Kings
Tokio Hotel (They just released a full length and I dont think anyone knew about it, or cared)
The Cab
Chiodos (I'm sure they will split before they record anything else)
Brand New (They are my favorite band but Im getting vibes that they wont be together for much longer)
Versa Emerge
Bowling for Soup (I cannot believe they still make music)

Seems to me like people have been saying this about these band for a while. Same with Chiodos but now that they lost Craig, yeah they're done.

this is what i was saying in another thread like this.

i don't think any bands in this "scene" or whatever really have that much staying power for long periods of time.

Ohhhhh, woah. Woah. Sir. I think you just need to take about 789 steps back from your keyboard and stay far, far away from it.

I dont think so. If Manchester dies out, Andy Hull will still be around doing someting golden.

but....their decline began some time ago, with Louder Now, my vote goes to

TAKING BACK SUNDAY. ....... . RIP .

Why? He's right. Don't let the fact that you like a band blind you from their actual staying power

When As Deathcore Runs Bad takes four years to release an album, fans don't give a shit about the band. When ctts takes six+ years to make a sophomore effort, everyone is waiting patiently.
