But I'm also very much in love with one of my guy friends and have been so since Nov 2008 (with the exception of a few times when I was really pissed at him for drunk IM'ing me and being whiny) and he's really come through for me recently and we are pretty much the same people but I'm afraid of even trying to hang out with him by myself (we've only hung out alone--if you would call it that--a few times and it's been mainly car rides, though one was about an hour round trip) and I we share a group of friends and I wouldn't want to make it awkward for them or anyone.

You couldn't be more right about that. I was alone for four loooooong years, but it gave me so much time to improve myself mentally and emotionally. I am so much better off because of it, and I have my girlfriend because of it.

Yes--I've read the book. Did I like it--not really. Did I understand the point they were making--loud and clear.

The first guy that I referred to I just don't know what to think of him anymore...come to find out today that somehow he and his friend ended up hanging out with this one girl in my group over the weekend and one of my friends told me about it today after I had just told her I had had a great evening last night and had smiled for the longest time in ages (being I'm upset about this guy because it seems like he dropped me out of nowhere) so today there was a lot of tears, hurt and wounds that had started to close to reopen :/

My guy friend I've never actually tried to hang out with him alone before so I don't know if I could really count him out like that, it's just that since I like him soo much that I'm a bit afraid to jeopardize our friendship. He says things sometimes that lead me to believe that he might like me but I am kinda bad at reading signs sometimes so who knows.

But thank you for the 'you deserve nothing less'--that is really sweet. It's just hard when you've never had a boyfriend and every time you think you are close to it, something happens and it gets taken away from you.
