HITS (http://www.hitsdailydouble.com/news/rumormill.cgi) is reporting Rise Against (http://www.absolutepunk.net/riseagainst) is on track to sell 30k-35k in their first week. This album is in stores now - and is worth the purchase.

There's a few good songs on it, but most of it is as forgettable as Siren Song. I keep waiting for this band to match the energy on The Unraveling, but i don't think it's going to happen

i third it. i considered buying today... but even 7.98 seems like too much for a cd sometimes. considering the profits made from a cd published by a major label, it's a little excessive. i could understand higher prices from small labels, as the overall cost is harder to swallow, and smaller runs cost more per cd than tremendous, nationwide distribution. not to mention, with indie labels, more money goes to the people who deserve it, and not the money-hungry CEO's and record execs. fuck those people.
maybe when the industry starts pricing cds at something more rational for poor college students and teenagers, their focus of the market, i will begin buying. or i might continue to stick it to the man. they deserve it.

8$? Dude - you can't even buy fucking dinner for that anymore, you can get like 2.1 gallons of gas, and the CD probably cost a million to make (with promotions, etc., tied in) - are you fucking kidding me?!

I'm listening to it right now actually.
I really like it - probably my second favorite album of the year after Moneen, so far. But with Park, Butch Walker, TEN and The Format coming up, that could change.

I like the new album a alot and everyone is gunna jump on me for this, but in my opinion, Siren Song was definetly my favorite CD by them....maybe cause its what got me into the band, and its all the songs i heard first by them, but after listening to all four CDs by them it still remains the best to me....

if you think 7.99 for a cd is too much, you need to stop being so damn cheap
im the cheapest person ever when it comes to dvds, game, and cds....but come on...7.99 is cheap
i mean what are you waiting on? for the price to go down? because in a month or so that album will be 12.99.

if every cd cost $8 I would surely buy alot more. I mean how much lower could they get...if they were priced at $5 what would the band make? they make almost nothing off of it as it is but c'mon...at $8 thats a good deal.

this may come as a shock to you, but some people in the music business actually care about music.

Somehow when I saw Moneen (new cd) and Down To Earth Approach (2004 release) on tour with Saves The Day they were selling their cds for $5. Whoever said $7.99 is expensive I think needs to pull his head out of his ass. Ooooh, you can save a whole dollar by buying the cd for 6.99 at Circuit City. So you'd rather not buy the cd because most of the money goes to the record company and ceo...honestly I don't think even if a band were on an indie they'd make very much off the sale of a cd either (maybe $1 per cd for lyrics/property rights). How does it only make sense to buy a cd if a band is making a larger sum of money off cd sales rather than pennies on the dollar? In my opinion record companies reap the large proportion of a cd sale because it's a risk putting out albums that may or may not sell (read William Graham Sumner). The band and record company entered into a contract and accepted the compensations for both parties, at least you can support RA regardless of your personal qualms with the big 5 (or is it 4 now?) record corps. and if you don't buy it you're just further denying them those pennies on the dollar they receive from royalty checks. If RA isn't going to make big bucks on an individual record sale you could at least put 5 pennies in their wallet than none at all.
