rumour around youngstown is that clarett is working out a deal to play with our brand new arena football team, the mahoning valley thunder.

i searched espn and the like to see if there was any reports of it, i couldn't find anything. but i know there's talks and they're just trying to work out a contract.

first off, how sad is it that you'd go from winning a national championship, and fuck your life up so bad that the best you can do is an arena 2 team who is really only considering you because you're local.

and secondly, i hope to god it doesn't happen. i've wanted an arena team here for so long, and now that we have one i want to get into it and go to the games and all that fun shit. if he's on the team, i'll refuse to do that.

sure, it'll get publicity for the team, but fuck it.

well so far it isn't getting much publicity.

Arena Football would love it if he ends up doing well plays in the top league and makes an NFL team in a few years.

Can Arena 2 teams get promoted and become arena 1 teams?

i mean if it happens it'll get publicity. which i'm hoping it doesn't happen.

and i'm really not sure how the whole arena thing works. i couldn't imagine they'd get promoted, just because of how small a market most of the teams are in.

yeah, he signed with them because i saw it on the bottom line on espn earlier today.

Arena Football is getting pretty big, though.

oh, it's not like the AFL that they show games on NBC? wow. didn't Lawrence Phillips get a shot in the AFL?

it's the same game, but a different league. smaller league. kinda like a minor league almost. players sign to arena 2 teams if they can't get picked up by the nfl or afl and try to work their way up.

i don't remember lawrence phillips playing. he may have though. kurt warner got his start in the afl though.

Didn't NBC not renew the AFL contract? I think thats a major hit.

oh, nevermind, i think Lawrence Phillips got shots in the CFL. but i understand what arena 2 is. why is he still even trying to play football?

shit. even funnier. i just heard it in passing and assumed it was the mahoning valley thunder, who are arena 2.

nope. turns out it's the mahoning valley hitmen. they're in the east indoor football league, or some shit like that. so it's not even real arena ball. it's an independent league. so, whether he signs or not, he may never play, because that team is a joke. they still don't have a home field and it's run by crackheads.

that all makes the thing so much funnier.

to fill space I guess, plus it did get us talking about Maurice Clarett, yet again.
