I can't wait to see this, it looks like they did a great job translating the book to the screen.

I absolutely love this book. I hope the movie is just as good. Doubtful, though.

The author got to see the movie already, and said they did an amazing job with it.

Hope he isn't just saying that, I'm real excited about this.

I love Augusten Burroughs, i've read all of his books and have loved every one.

Ryan Murphy directed the movie, and if his job with Nip/Tuck is any clue as to what Running With Scissors will be like, then I can't wait.

I'm just really excited in general to see it.

What's the exact release date?

The author has the same last name as me, boom.

I have almost bought this book tons of times, maybe I will now.

I highly reccomend anything he's written.

A great, hysterical, heartfelt writer.

This book was great with one minor problem. Augusten, we get it, you're gay.

Haha he is?

I never would have picked up on that. I thought the affair with a man 30 years his senior is what every 13 year old goes through.

I just felt like he was beating you over the head with that fact and found it annoying. Minor problem in an overall glorous book.

Com'on guys we have all spent that sumer over at that neighbor's house that is way too old to be living with his parents.

I didn't really feel like he was hitting me over the head with that, it was just a very major part of the book and (rightfully so) his life.

Reviews have never stopped my feelings about a movie. Those fuckers dont know what I would like, haha.

I dont think this is coming out anywhere in my area though. :-(

Oh god, the movie was so dissapointing. I saw it tonight right after reading the book, and the book is so good compared to the movie. It's like the directors just crammed everything to make it "flow". They left out so many good parts like Augusten and Natalie walking under the waterfall at Smith, and Augusten trying to pick up the guy in the supermarket. Also, what was he deal with Agnes? Her part is very minor in the book, yet in the movie she seems almost key to central themes.
Anyways, enough of that, I was let down.

I saw this about a month ago, I didn't like it. The actual story was alright I guess, but the the whole thing was just wayyyyy too out there for me.

They left out some of the best parts from the book. The movie was dull and not even funny like the book was.

The movie was awful. Jill Clayburgh and Brian Cox were about the only good things about it.

ha i agree, but they seem to be taken from a list of "songs to use in a movie that takes place in the 70s."

Read the book, it's honestly so much better than the movie.

Also-anyone here read "Dry" by the same author? I heard it's pretty good.
