maybe a skills competition--like fastest 1st to 3rd, strongest arm, fastest pitch type stuff. that stuff would be fun to see but it also does carry a risk of injury.

The skills competition sounds really cool, but this wouldn't carry just a risk of injury, but a high risk for injury. No one would compete in it because of that.
