this girl i'm pretty close with has been hanging out with this dude a lot recently, which normally wouldn't bother me seeing as she has always had a lot of guy friends (i have a lot of female friends) but the more i find out about this kid the more he seems a lot like me but just a bit more nerdier. over the years my friend and i have developed certain habits, for example we only watch new episodes of Dexter with each other, I refuse to watch anything unless she's over and we can watch it. but lately this kid has been doing some of the same traditions my friend and i have done for a while now and as petty as it sounds it kinda hurts. idk, just wondering if anyone else is in or has had the same situation.
we've done anal already.

sounds like you could have 2 close friends to hang out and do weird shit with instead of 1. i would embrace their friendship and gain a new friend in doing so. can't have too many friends, i don't think.

In all seriousness, I'd go with this. You really can't have too many friends. The guy doesn't have to be your new best friend. Just invite along and go with it.

I know how you feel. My cousin is my best friend and sometimes I get upset when he does things with other people that I feel should be things we do together, but I understand that he has other friends and there's no reason he shouldn't spend time with them. It can be tough, but you just have to accept it. I agree about joining them and making a new friend, that is usually a pretty good plan.

I decided to go the friends route with a new friend my ex-girlfriend made, and he definitely pulled all the moves on her and used any of the problems me and her had in a relationship against me, including things I had confided in him thinking I could trust him.

all points that don't exist or were addressed in the original post. this was just to start a dialogue on jealousy between friends and/or jealousy in general. it's a very common bad habit.
